I have a j-45 and two martins. I have the d-35 and hd-28. I bought my j-45 when I went to buy a d-18. I played both side by side and the j-45 beat the d-18 hands down. The action was do much better on the j-45 so I bought it. There's nothing wrong with my martins but the Gibson is a nice change. The shorter scale length is nice since I'm a short dude bottom line is if it is possible play them both side by side and make your own choice.

That looked and sounded so uncomfortable. Maybe look for different positions to play those notes. Or think about using finger style playing. I could do this much smoother with 2 handed hammer ons and pull offs.

The broadness of the tone is crazy for the money. You do a good job of showing the depth. Its chimey highs and mids are what make a strat great.

Need the dreadnought instead of concert on the Fender for a fair comparison. The paramount range is amazing, I was blown away with it

You have the orchestra version? How would you describe the sound? But with 100 bucks more the Taylor Academy 10 is certainly a better buy.

Martin sounded deeper and fuller as it is a dreadnought guitar. But for an orchestra to sound that balance and quite a mid focus sound. Man that would cut through any band setting. And if you alone performing. Just add a little bit base. That orchesta would sound amazing. Maybe better than Martin.

Play the one that should have been reissued, the 53 Zephyr Emperor. Gibson was glad they bought out Epiphone so they could climb out from under their bed's and sell there big guitars, no knocking the one in Scotty Moore's hand's, but he could make anything sound great, even my spellin.

Damn it! You just helped me make up my mind to get the ultra and not the pro ii. I was hoping I could get away with spending less money. Thanks a lot. I can’t believe your playing and the fact that the pickups are noiseless. Thanks man

Hi, sorry but I must insist as an owner of 2 Binson Echorecs. This is not in working order. The AC disc motor is not running at its normal speed. It is operating very slowly with irregular speed, and this is why the audible repeats are very dark with significant wow and flutter. Give the disc a push to accelerate it while running and see if that will fix it. If not, the motor needs torn down and inspected for worn parts. If only the motor needs work, it does look like everything else is functioning. Shame what someone did with the front nobs. Good luck!
