Surprising to see the comments. How come people understand what this guy is saying. I would like to listen Edward D Bono's opinion.

10:35 - Organic vs engineered. Organic communicate with environment with stressors only. 12:09 - Organic material need Variability in environment to get better. Complex system success depends on failing early and rapidly. 12:28 - You don't improve by planning but by experimentation. Convex experimentation.

Nassim Taleb : "Small is Beautiful - but also less fragile" . Sounds like a guy trying to justify his small penis size.

This is intriguing as a way to experiment and scale what works, but also to encourage fresh civic commitment so people feel like it's "their" place, were they crafted the values. I'd be curious about the specifics, though. The assumption would be that existing cities have become ossified and sclerotic. So is this about empowering communities to change specific policies? What would they do ultimately differently from the existing governments?

Sad that no reference to soil conditions as a factor to the difference and degree in costs of subway projects. Singapore will have the 2nd most costly area to build a subway, most of the city is built around a tropical narsh and swamp making tunneling more costly to engineer

I know I'm late to the party, but found 1:09.00 to be an interesting point. During COVID, I understood from my news organizations (maybe our highway projects here in Chicago), but mostly for the LA transit projects, that they were able to complete things much faster due to not needing to adhere so strictly to MOT, to the commuter schedule, as people were not using those methods of transit.

Una ciudad chárter es una ciudad cuyo sistema de gobierno se define por los propios estatutos de la ciudad, más que por las leyes estatales, provinciales, regionales o nacionales.

His excellency Dr. Mekuria has done a good job providing necessary feedback about the merits of the program. But as a natural scenario for any massive program of this size, there must be challenges encountered and errors made while pursuing the program. Being an Ethiopian architect and urban planner (Msc) myself, I have a strong belief that the program has had a huge success but also unexpected/ unnecessary impacts on social, environmental, political situations which should have been discussed here in this platform. Very great discussion and very glad to see the exposure of the success of the program!!!
