Not spicy at all--people should probably know that
@EllaPinkert7 күн бұрын
Um the adjective “spicy” used here has absolutely nothing to do with romance novels and I’d hope people would know that based on context haha

I think the author was trying to tell us that everyone and every important event has a backstory. Everything that went on in the first chapter was answered in detailed by the rest of the book.

Gild had too much rape romanticism and it basically kept on using it as a plot thickener. It was way too graphic so I give this book 2 stars. I am actually not going to read the second book in the series because of its trashiness.

Gender confusion, chemical & surgical intervention is our reality. This book does such an amazing job describing it. It's all about preparing for eternity. Do we love/trust our Creator? Do we love our neighbors?I'm choosing to respond in love. Is it not true that Jesus claimed to FULFILL the law? Not do away with it . We are told that He gives us a NEW Covenent. He said there is no Jew or Gentile that's religion. He says there is no slave or free, that's economics. He says there is no man or woman, that's gender. He says we should love God and each other. We are one in Christ. Gal 3:28

Not only do all her books glorify abuse, but you “love her writing” P L E A S E she writes worse than I did in 4th grade.

the plot line is good but GOD THE INCEST. her female characters have absolutely no personality or ambition whatsoever and WHY WOULD YOU DISCRIBE INTIMATE SCENES BETWEEN TEENAGERS. she literally had sexual assault scene in her book which was glorified.

To be fair, the "teenager" writing was suppose to be written by an 18yr old. However, I'm a dude and dudes don't think the way this dude was written. Also, I can't believe Miles couldn't get over, in SIX YEARS, the death of a baby he knew a few hours.

I think people relate this to ACOTAR because he is also a king of night and they also make bargains. It does say in there that most people get a tattoo from him as well. Plus the whole he knew that they were mates thing was giving Rhys as well, along with the way she found out. Oh and he has wings that are described like bat wings. Im surprised you guys didn’t find it weirder that she was only 16. Because even tho nothing “sexual” happened, they still flirted a lot and he was still hanging out with her a lot for someone soooo much older. Plus he does say he was in love with her at that time, which is really creepy. Like was that kind of gross to anyone else? I found it really weird that the author had her be 16.

i agree !!!! the character were so unlike, i love a morally flawed characters but this gave us nothing. There were no redeeming qualities. Also if the author had any siblings, i wouldn’t believe her cause the relationships shown in this book was not very sisterly. It was just such a dud.

I just finished the book, I loved her first book, this book is not it... I had a feeling she is going through little women, and in the end she even mentioned it once... not for me, there is no unconditional love, only manipulations and codependency...😅

I feel it takes a bit. I definitely agree with the poster that this book is really all about the town and it’s people, but it can be a hard read. For one because the author will go on side tangents about a character, and two because they do use strong language in the book. At one point Moshe’s wife was looking out the window, that leads to a flashback , then we end said chapter with why they mentioned this (kinda) unnecessary flash back. James McBride does that a lot.
