I was a staff for this shelter and I witnessed the Resident Aids (RA) stealing donation cloths that was brought to the Susan's Place women shelter by donors.. And I also witnessed supervisors, Resident Aids, case managers, security staff and cooks stealing food from the kitchen and putting them in their personal begs that they took home with them. And as of a ex employee staff for Care for the homeless at Susan's Place the staff there is disrespectful to residents who fight and cues residents there and harasses them

Thank you for providing the seminar's recording, it was very interesting, and makes one rethink on the current NY system barriers since I believe NY/ NYC can be more effective in serving the homeless community with the vast resources that it can tap. Thank you

Why the staff at 427 West 52 st ny ny 10019 is not having residents follow rules at this facility there's a resident who been in this shelter for a few years beating on resident last week she attack a girl in her sleep with a fan causing the female to have so many marks on her face she also has attack plenty other female here today as I was getting ready for work Keisha Thompson told me she going to kill me and beat me up what im not understanding is why is Keisha Thompson still here she also smoke cigarettes in thr room and tellls the elderly women to shut up or she going to punch them in the face in the rules i. Was given it say this behavior is not tolerated however if so why is this female still a resident here she has attack plenty of people she even spit on someone in their sleep she told me in front of staff and security that she's going to kill me and beat me up i had to call cops because I can lose my job and reputation as a health care worker if this woman touches me im sueing this shelter because the rules arent being followed

Good afternoon, it's hard to find a apartment today in NYC because landlords are looking for you to make 40× the rent and currently I don't however I'm a health care worker I'm a new resident at the Women's Shelter on 427 West 52 Street I'm in room 301 bed 43 I been here for 2 weeks and it's been distributing so far they have a female name Keisha Thompson harassing and beating women in there sleep Keisha most recent attack on a female she beat the girl out of her sleep with a fan the girl had all kinds of marks on her face NYC police department did nothing nor did the shelter they still have this woman here and by law she should have been removed because plenty of people she attack has made police report on her she also spit on someone while they were sleeping today I'm getting ready for work she told me she is going to kill me and beat me up WHY IS THIS FEMALE still at this shelter when she has attack too many people already if this woman touches me I'm sueing the shelter system......

I also want to acknowledge an organization called LIVING POSITIVE. So much of becoming “formerly homeless” involves a team effort. Yes, Care for the homeless/Care found here played a Michael Jordan part in saving my life. But Living Positive played Scottie Pippen and none of this would have turned out the way it did without them. They put me in contact with the realtor who screened me for the apartment I now live in. CFTH worked on my inside and got me right so I could take advantage of an opportunity that LP provided on the outside.

The Homeless Chronicle's 😥 I can't stress these points of view to the Privileged people whereI live! They Just don't understand! The 3rd scenario you mentioned here is Where I'm at! You're Stuck in a Rut, That *Near Impossible to work scenario!* There are Different levels of Homelessness! They just don't care to understand its Deeply traumatic, Dealing with Emotional stresses, Sleep Depression, etc! The Main reason they don't care is Because these are *_"Non lived"_* situations for them and they have a "narrow naive mind set! Their answer or common response always fall back on "Just get a Job"! If you don't have the "Resources Of (Housing, a Place to store your belongings👕👖🎒🥾👟 Safely, the ability to 🛁🧼, cook and Maintain/ Preserve food, and a Good place to sleep 🛌🏾 or 🛋 to Maintain and Keep the job! *That's the bottom line!* They are just to Stupid and don't care about your Horrible situation!! That's What's up! 😥

I was pulled aside by one of the white women OnStaff in a higher position and I was told that this was not the place that was going to help me and they could connect me with who could help. Simply went there for a class to help put your resume together and look for work and yes I had been in a shelter and yes I have prior education and work history everyone else in the class was a woman of color.

What about a shelter for the very sick and disabled in nyc? There’s only been one shelter for the disabled and that was in Manhattan. We want to shelter the mentally ill and have general population shelters, but we don’t provide any accessible shelter for the disabled. I’m not talking about a hip replacement type of disability. I’m talking about the very sick disabled people that are not being cared for. What about them? Your forcing them into nursing homes instead of providing adequate shelter and services for the disabled community. People in nyc are getting sick every day and are losing their apartments because they can’t work and eventually will be forced out onto the streets. They need your help too.
