If these German TV people were putting Enya almost ahead of the other Clannad group members I can see how that might have caused some friction, especially considering she had only been a full time band member for the past year or two. It's interesting that Nicky Ryan apparently wanted to steer Clannad toward the sort of layered, atmospheric style that Enya became famous for but they apparently resisted, wanting to stay true to their folk roots, which led to him (and Enya) leaving. But in the end they sort of followed her lead, although IMO with their own unique spin on the sound.
