Thank you for this video. It led me to my sudden increase in oil use. Here it is 2 years after your post and O'reilys sold me a bad one for my 2005 2.5 Altima. I replaced it and it hasn't used a drop since. I contacted Corporate and they never said they were sorry or that they plan to do anything. I will never buy from O'Reilys again

Why wouldn't you show the removal of the starter everybody on here wants to know how to take it out including me and how did you get it back in?
@WyattSmith-pu6jmАй бұрын
It's 3 bolts and 2 wires to remove it. That's very simple and easy to get to

late to the party, but does that mean we cant freely rotate it over once we get everything together? since the tensioner is used via oil pressure. ive rotated it and the cams and crank always make there way in time. just want a clarification. because sometimes theres slack at the top and sometimes theres not. thanks

On my Nissan Factory service manual the it states 75ft-lbs, then loosen all the way, then 26-32ft-lbs, then 75°, and another 75° For the cylinder head bolts. I wonder if that was revised at some point. Mines a 2003 Sentra SE-R

Have this exact water heater/value and set up. Hard to find video that doesn't have the RV - electrical water heater stuff. Thanks for all the explaination and details. Time for me to do like you have and start with the Pilot assembly. Great video and details!

My Pilot light stays on. But it will not turn the big flame on when I turn it to on!?! How do I fix that? Thanks!
@timgreening56892 ай бұрын
That should only turn on when your water drops below a certain temperature, the thermostat kicks on the gas and the pilot should light the burner to heat the water.

So, the short version to the story is the cat(s) destroyed your engine. After the rebuild, you discovered & isolated the cause here. Is it plausible at all for a failure to keep the engine tuned (good spark plugs) and the associated misfires…to be a contributing factor to the cat’s degradation and eventual failure? *In the majority of cases, by the time the problem gets this bad-have the misfires, back-pressure and debris already ruined the bottom end of the engine?

Back again. The Atwood Gas Control Valve shown is no longer produced. Dometic bought Atwood and canceled all production forcing people to buy a new Dometic water heater. Sigh. However, IF you are able to find a Robertshaw 110-503 (Robertshaw Uniline, Brownsville, TX 951-734-2600), it will indeed fit. They can direct you to a reseller or maybe you can order directly from them if you have a business. I have also seen adverts for the 110-503 from Grainger (most expensive - but still much less than a new water heater). You will need a 1/2" reducer bushing to use your same inlet fitting. The only other simple mod needed is to enlarge the hole for the inlet gas line so it will easily mate with the fitting in the 110-503. I did this with a rat tail file in about 5 minutes. Hope this helps.
