As a person who lives in tropical country. I wonder how it feels snow camping .

A trick I used to do in the past was to light a fire in a steel bucket, then you can have it tipped on the side a bit into the opening and then it gets hot and it uses very little wood, a tip to try. No flames that threaten the tarpaulin then. And if you want to move, just carry the fire with you.

Why is it called a blizzard when it only snows a little. I think it has to blow 25 m. per second to be counted as a storm. I've been thinking about it for a while. Nice video.

Excellent presentation! Reminded me of my "old school" camping days in the 1970s - simple tarp tent, etc. Nothing better than a snowfall! You have a new subscriber.

Nice video, but a lot of us watch for survival tips, so please show how you start the fire! It’s fine if you use firefighters and it’s fine if it takes a while, but please do show the process. Thank you! 🙏

Take a lighter and strike it. Hold the flame to a twig. That twig lights more twigs fire started. 😮😊

@ Hold a flame to a twig in the snow? I hope I never get into a survival situation with you 🤣🤣🤣
@johnjordan802257 минут бұрын
@@jamesjames77777 Did you not watch the video ? He put twigs in the stove and lit them. As the fire started he added sticks. Come on Man, it's not complicated to start a fire when you have a lighter. 😆😆😆
@jamesjames7777722 минут бұрын
@ He used some form of tinder, like birch bark, a fire tree or something synthetic. If you really think you can start a fire with damp wood by holding a lighter to a twig, then please never go do survival stuff without a grown up 😂

google says that is 0F temps, which are pretty serious, especially if out in the wind, or if you somehow get wet. At about 10F, my bivy, envelope, hammock, dry debris, etc, are no longer enough. I need a heat source, or much heavier clothing. , Brisk exercise is worth almost 20F degrees and the net hammock can be used to wrap around my body and hold dry debris around me, and not have condensation, which the envelope wont do. When I'm hiking, I obviously dont need the hammock to sit or lie-upon. The reflective tyvek bivy is then worn on the outside, to block the wind. I've never had condensation inside of the tyvek, but if it did occur, all of the layers of bug net suits, camo netting, and debris are going to keep the moisture from effecting me. Getting the debris dried out CAN be an issue. The 1 bushel of it needed to put inside of the camo net wraps and the bugnet suits, I can dry out discretely, in one night, using hot stones, my body heat and a UCO lantern with its beeswax candle. If I have to dry out the 4 more bushels needed between the plastic envelope and the bivy, (for sleeping) or under the net hammock when hiking, it takes all night, with hot rocks and 4 Siberian fire lays. 2 of the opposing Siberians are putting a blanket of heat over the bed of hot stones upon which I put a layer of wet debris. The other two opposing Siberians are used to heat both sides of a low 'wall" of stones. Then I continuously use a forked stick to stir the debris and the Cold Steel shovel is used to swap out cool rocks for hot ones. This makes for one very 'sucky" night, but it beats hell out of having to cut and haul firewood, day after day after day. This is especially true if there's a lot of snow to have to move thru. My set up saves me about 10 lbs of heavy clothing, sleeping pad, sleeping bag, ground sheet, poncho, etc. I dont do this for fun. If I"m "out there", it's because shtf, or I'm testing some new gear or idea for shtf.
