I don't think it's 500 watts, more like 250 for the engine size
@bobdebouwer7835

It probably will be 500 watt. Much more copper inside then a 250w. The weight will probably be around 4 kg vs 3 kg for a 250w hub. Btw the fraud would be discovered sooner or later since it's the controller that decides. If the controller sends 500w then the motor will run at 500w. If it was a 250w motor it would overheat and fail after a while, leading to bad reviews. I think it's not even expensive to make such a motor.

Yes, you could spend thousands of dollars on an eBike kzbin.infoUgkxUiL0GnyDjP32RJdd660sP8mZk4CRLTCJ and get something much higher quality. However, if you're looking for a basic model to try out eBiking this is a great choice. The assembly is easy as far as bikes go (took about an hour for me to do, I'm not an expert). All tools needed are included. I added the plastic mud guards you see and a more comfortable seat. The other reviews are correct that you're probably going to want a better seat (Giddy Up! Bike Seat is what I got - super comfortable). The battery easily handles a 2-4 hour ride if you add some of your own pedal power. I haven't even gotten it up to top speed yet - it is very fast. Components are not top of the line, but decent for the price and work just fine. It works great on dirt roads and singletrack and pavement although too heavy to do tricks or any serious technical mountain biking. I'm looking forward to using it a lot over the summer. Tons of fun!

Great Video What made you decide to go for 36v and not 48v? Any idea of the total cost? I'm looking to do the same Cheers

52v 20ah is a better battery 🔋 they charge upto 59v ,higher speed, I've had plenty of good 36v batterys so it all depends how fast you want to go on a unrestricted Ebike, if you're going all Legal at 15mph then 36v is good enough, its the controller and the AMPS you need for Torque

Very good test, not bad miles, for a 500 watt hub motor, nice video , yah all hub motors seem to have that wine mine is a rear 750-1000 peak, and has that wine to it but mine is an Engwe EP-2 pro so ready made e bike, but have built my own in the past.

I Think you not need change the wheel, just use the higher fear instead of lower gear ( let it to the eletric motor ) I just do it with my bike and it works perfectly and I still can use some speeds of my gear .

this is most efective on small bikes with small wheels and it can go faster than a bigger wheels . change your sprocket to big because small sprocket makes the motor difficult in running

Thank you for an excellent, informative, easy to understand video. You are the first person to show the little U shaped fork drop out filling washer, and the importance of filler/spacer washers. This is such an important part for safety and there are so many ways to install this part wrong, and only one right way. Thanks for showing us newbies the right way the first time.

The 2 sprockets on the rear axle is totally wrong. Only 1 sprocket mate. Of course your needing the correct BATTERY to make her go….zippp! Also, an amp meter would help test the lines as to what line works what without frying stuff with too much electric power. I watched an Asian guy install same as yours. I have his video. He had a 36volt motor. That’s 3 12volt lead batteries. Later he just used 1 36volt lithium to extend range + less weight

Well, yeah, if you use one sprocket that's easy, but then you can't use it as a real bike. Most people want both drive trains functional. I recommend people who are considering this kit, to buy a motorized (gas) bike hub adapter, 36 tooth rear gear, 410 chain, 13 tooth fixed gear replacement on the motor, and swap the whole thing over to left hand side.

I would have just installed a mid drive or rear drive, that front drive has me 2nd guessing about possible failings, even with those torque arms. Struts look so thin. I am sure you did you research but damn, i would have gone for a 350w motor.
@Mishakol1290

This looks kind of dangerous i was reading horror strories of people who did this and had the forks snap did you take into consideration of that and how can you be sure its safe? I would have gotten a mid drive kit tbh or a rear. I was going to get a front drive to compliment my rear drive bike, but I don't want to die or have my wheel fall off while riding. Its kind of an irrational fear but kind of not because those forks just look really flemsy and plus you are turning it and putting force on it seems like a recipe for disaster.
