Thanks for the video. I have this same issue. Now can you tell me how hard is it for the engine to come out

@@Technewlogy Engine removal is not too bad but requires a jack and reinstallation requires 2 people. From start to finish it's about 8 hours to get into & go through the transmission, an extra 4 hours rebuilds the top end and that's STRONGLY recommended because the headgaskets are failing frequently from age....

Good video on clutchless shifting. Some bikes don't seem to 'like' it, but their design allows for clutchless shifting generally: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rJq6pqKig756r6s&ab_channel=MotorcyclistMagazine

Great video. Just to confirm, these would fit my 1983 Nighthawk 550SC?

Yes they would. Being the same frame and all. Be warned, it is EXTREMELY difficult to source these. It took me about 4 months of looking online. Found some on ebay. But there are a lot of Chinese crash bars on ebay that will claim to fit, but will not, and then try to refuse your return. (learned that lesson the hard way.. Twice 😂). If you still need a set I saw a second hondaline that just got put up on ebay, I can give you the details.

@@hanloncaldwell8571 I bought three OEM used for my 550's and 650. Thanks to you I figured out how to install them. Tough to get those upper U bolts fitted to the nuts since not much room, but I managed to do it. Sending you good karma for helping me! Thanks again!

I'm sorry, I'm using an automatic translator, because I don't know English. Greetings! I am from Russia, and I really love the V4 Handa, I have a Magna v45 VF750 88g. 2 years ago, the hose of the clutch line was damaged, and it was not possible to solve the issue on the road, I had to go home without a clutch. That's right, you said, the problem with the copy shaft, gearshift forks very often results from improper operation with the clutch or its absence. But apparently, besides the damage to the gearshift forks and the copier shaft, there is something else. After the gears stopped catching on these dogs, or rather when shifting gears, there was a noise of gears hitting each other, these side dogs, I changed both the copy shaft and the gearshift forks to the restored ones, but the problem did not go away. I also noticed a strong wear on the washers of the C1 gear of the secondary shaft, they hold the seporator bearing of the C1 gear. Can this wear affect the correct position of the secondary shaft /gears on it, relative to the gear forks, to the extent that the gears do not engage with the side teeth?

Ebay is your best shot, these were made only by Honda and have been discontinued since 1986ish. Many were made though so they're all over eBay and maybe 50% of the CXs & GLs out there have these on them already making them really easy to find should you be hunting for parts bikes. :) I had 3 sets this summer but sold them all already, if I get more parts bikes that might change haha

Great video! I just bought some bars like this from a gentleman on the CX500 forum and I was wondering what this would look like. Thank you!
