This is such a great adaptation because the design and this theme suit in reality...plus with the very big budget and cgi..if Hollywood brave enough to take anime seriously, it will become good

Whoever made the new movie must have REALLY liked the original. And I mean that in a good way!

This is a perfect way to see the power of composition. The use of architecture, lighting and colors are perfect in the original 1980 version. Even when nothing scary is happening, the scene always feels eerie.

Bakshi’s film was pure magic. Incredibly immersive. It’s a shame he never got to finish it.

An adaptation can be completely different and can be better than the source material. Stanley Kubrick's version is better than the book.

I love Julianne Moore madly. I think Viggo Mortensen is a pretty good actor. But Psycho didn't need a remake.

See the only reason the 97 one exists is cause King hated Kubrick's version so much he thought he could do better. He couldn't

well.. Gregory Peck and Lee Remick were just unmatchable.. it's not always a good idea to do a remake, and this time around it certainly wasn't either.

Hey. Atleast His Dark Materials didn't go overbudget and found success. Not to mention it also finished the story and didn't leave us on a permanently unsolved cliffhanger.

While I'm all for, and supporting of a majority black cast, re-booting a film and replacing a predominantly white cast, that is remembered in the minds of many to do so, is not the right way for it to happen imo

And as always a good classic needs to be blackwashed too. I'm sick and tired of these Afro-Americans invading every remake of a good movie. Imagine if black panther gets played by a white dude.

The one thing I don’t get is how they market these two movies here in America. Apparently in the US, they market Quarantine as the ORIGINAL film while at the same time trying to state that Rec was the remake. When you go to KZbin and search up Rec, it says, “From the producers who bought you Quarantine comes this movie that inspired that terror!” It almost sounds like they’re trying to tell us that Rec was made AFTER Quarantine (when clearly it wasn’t) while at the same time mention that it was what inspired Quarantine in the first place. Not to mention, KZbin states that Rec was made in 2009, when for real it was 2007 with Quarantine coming out the next year. So I’m confused are they trying to tell us that REC is the lesser remake and that Quarantine is the actual Original film when for real it’s vice versa. Pretty dirty marketing if you ask me. I don’t mean to bring up this rant, I just saw this myself on KZbin and wondered if anyone else noticed the same thing.
