Good luck for the year. I've another three weeks before I go back to school. Thankfully I only have to go in the day before. Mind you I teach grade school age children. I would hate to be in a room without natural light. This seems to be much more common in US schools but thankfully never in Ireland. Mind you our schools have fewer pupils.

I'm starting year 25. Mostly I teach high school science with the occasional math or computer science course, so my room is a little more limited: lab tables are built in due to plumbing, gas and electric. But I spent the summer decluttering my house, so I've been decluttering and reorganizing my classroom. This made good background while I worked. Have a good year! I start in 2 weeks.

Very cool. Our program has two CS tracks. Software and App design which consist of 1-APCSP, 2-Python/html/css, 3 APCSA and 4- capstone. That is taught by another teacher. We also have the network security track which is 1-IT Essentials (A+ exam), 2 Cyber Security, 3 - Routing and switching (CCNA) and 4- Cyberdefence. I teach all those.

I had to figure out how to let them work on the four servers I have in the rack without standing in front of the rack because then only one can work at a time. So that was my solution. Thanks so much for watching.

Congratulations on your degree! My sister started working as a French teacher without her Education degree, based on where she lived and the need for French teachers. Congratulations! Welcome to the club! I finished my degree at 40. I went back part time to finish my degree at 36. It took me four years to do two years. I did the first two years right out of high school. I went the traditional way for my education and attended class in person. Online was in its infancy back then. This year, I returned to work after 7 years and passed my insurance adjuster licensing exam! I am not an insurance adjuster for State Farm. That was an accomplishment for me as I doubted I could do it after 6 years of cancer treatment.

Congratulations. I remember how happy I was to get my degree, after working full time and taking classes (in my mid 20s). At 62, I had an opportunity to take a teacher course for learning how to teach pilates reformer. I'm currently working to satisfy the requirements of personal reformer practice, student teaching and observation. I'm within about 16 hours of finishing up the minimum requirements. Then I need to hit the books to do hard core studying to pass a written and a practical exam. The great thing is that I have a job that I begin in January teaching pilates reformer classes. My current employer (recreation organization) where I work in customer service, has reimbursed part of the training AND hired me to teach. Am I teaching as many classes as I want? No. But it is a start. Who says we are mothballed in our late 50s and beyond? There is always room for change, in our professional lives and in our way of eating. I'm happy we can always learn and grow and evolve. Oh, yes, and anatomy is a subject I've never had and have to gain enough knowledge to pass the teacher certification exams!

Your Obama poster sparks joy 😂❤. Thanks for teaching and congrats on your degree! My sister teaches Chinese to grades 7-12 and her job is exhausting. She's so good with the students, but soon as she can find a job with better pay they'll lose her too. I benefited from having incredible teachers growing up. It's devastating that our country at large doesn't incentivize people into this honorable profession. So again thank you for all you do!

The poster was there from the previous teacher. It says "Don't just play on your phone, program it". I love that poster. It's the core of everything we try to teach. It is totally exhausting. There was an event tonight for halloween for the school and its now 9pm. I was at work for almost 14 hours today.
