Hi Monica. The description box is under the video. Look for the words "see more" or an arrow head to click on. Different devices have different ways to find the description box. I hope that helps.

What I like about this is the hood doesn’t have the point in the back now it is when you make a rectangle to make the hood.

Goodness, I was thoroughly confused there for a minute or two till I realised you were using American terminology! Once I had grasped that, all was well! 😀 This is a very useful little pattern, with its neat rounded corners - thanks a lot!

Sorry for the confusion! The written pattern should have "US terminology" written on it but needed to be said on the video too.

How many yards do I need?
@24caratcrochetCoUk3 жыл бұрын
It will mainly depend how long you want to make the Scarf. Two skeins of the yarn I used (Lion Brand Homespun) will be plenty and I think I used about 300g so up to 350 yards of yarn should be plenty. There are lots of things that can make a difference to the amount of yarn you use, including your tension.

Having found this pattern a while back, I'm just now making my first. Oh my goodness!! I'm absolutely loving it. This is my kind of pattern, which is just as much about the options, as it is actual pattern. I adore options. This one will go to someone who was very kind to me and sent me a surprise Valentine box of goodies. So, I'm sending her a surprise scoodie in her favorite colors. She and I have never met. She lives in a much colder climate than I do and she loves gardening and flowers. I digress. Thank you for this lovely pattern. It's working up beautifully using 2 strands of CYC #4 acrylic and a 7 mm hook, hdc stitches. When her scoodie is finished and mailed, I will make one for myself, perhaps in a cotton blend. <3

Is this long enough for a man about 5’ 10” tall?

The length of scarf is personal preference. As a general guide, a scarf could be made the same length as the height of the person it's made for. Hope this helps.

My stitches are nowhere near as neat as yours. Do you have any suggestions on how to block this piece?
@24caratcrochetCoUk4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the compliment! For blocking, it may depend what fibre type you are using. Results can be less successful with acrylic but definitely worth a try. I suggest you dampen the project and lay it out flat, probably best with pins until it dries. For the hood section, if you have a mannequin head, you could dampen the hood and put it on the mannequin head until it dries. Hope that helps.

I started but will not continue with your video, because the video images are unclear, you can't really see well what you're doing. This should be a beginners work this scoodie? Not really! wish you did all the stitches in front of the camera, now it's inconsistent and because the video is not clear I need to interpret/figure out what exactly you mean, and just try...Also when you put the 1st stitch marker in?? You're not showing and telling exactly WHERE specific one should put the stitch marker in? Pfff sorry no time or patience for this messy video. I hope i find a more clearer Scoodie tutorial here on YTube. Thank you for your effort anyways.. At least i made a start with it..

@@hcpunkrockhxxx9247 No worries and thanks for the feedback, it's much appreciated. Recording tutorials efficiently that are clear is challenging. I'm stretching my arms around a tripod and not crocheting in a natural position, over a table. Some extra things may involve making the video much longer and that has been an issue with people. The pattern and video are free. If I charged a fee, I would be able to invest in a better arrangement and time to make things even clearer. Your comment is appreciated.
