yes po. Vet might need to xray or ultrasound her tummy to check kung kaya ang normal delivery

Why must you subject your female pet dog to labor and delivery? Do you sell puppies to make money? Many people do the same. Millions of dogs and cats are euthanized each year. Sadly, there is an abundance of dogs, in poor, third world countries as well as in the USA, in other countries and by the AKC. Possibly you are unaware of these facts.

thank you so much for this. i work with a rescue and someone had dumped a pregnant dog at the sanctuary a few weeks ago. she's in labor now, first stage, and i've never had to assist in a dog birth because i've always worked with cats more lol, so i had no idea what to expect. this is super helpful, thank you.

Hi! It's my pleasure to share this amazing experience with my dog :D If you're able to monitor the date of her matings you'll have the idea when she might deliver the puppies. Number one tip is you just being there with her from the start of labor until all pups are out. Let her know that she's not alone, it'll help her big time. Stay calm during the process as she may also feel when you're worried and anxious. Most of the times mama dog knows already what to do. After the first puppy is out the following puppies will be easier. Be there and observe her, you'll know if she'll need your help. My late mother whose corgis had puppies put a heating pad on low heat wrapped in a towel to keep the puppies warm after giving birth to them. The pups huddled up on them while they weren't nursing.

Thank you for sharing! I have a belgian malinois that’s due to give birth on January. I will surely do the same to my coming puppies soon. I’m planning to separate the puppies this time and just give them to mommy dog when feeding. Last time that she gave birth, 6 outnof 10 died because I just let mommy dog to do all she needs with the puppies in their nesting box. She’s an XL dog and her puppies were too tiny. I regret that They died due to lack of supervision for the mommy dog.

hi sir, ilang hours po siya sa phase 1? our doxie started showing signs of labor (restlessness, nesting, inappetence) and so far 13 hours napo siya sa phase 1, bumalik po yung gana niya sa pagkain and nakaka sleep po now, nagkaroon narin po ba kayo ng similar experience?

Hello po! Kmsta po si doggie nyo? nakapanganak na po ba sya? I hope she’s doing okay. It happened to me, too. Sometime it will take over 24 hrs before giving visible contraction. The longest I waited was almost 48hrs.

Ang nakakaworry po is kung may contraction na pero matagal pa ding walang lumalabas na puppy. As long as wala pang contraction at hndi pa pumutok ang panubigan it’s still normal.

Normally po, pag nagstart na ang contraction dapat may lumabas na na puppy withing 30mins to an hr. If 2hrs of contraction wala pa dn might as well call your vet.

Appetite may vary frm different dogs. Some increases appetite which is more likely to happen since pregnant dogs need to consume more to also feed the puppies in their wombs. If your dog is 45 days on her pregnancy she’s most likely to show physical signs like changes in her nipples and increase in weight. You should also see her baby bump by this time :)

Our dachshund could give birth 60 days 5 days earlier/ 5 days late are still normal. Giving birth at the 53rd day is a little bit not ideal. Her puppies might not have sucking instinct yet

It could take up to 24 hrs. Normally I don’t sleep for a night just to make sure every puppy come out safe. Once she started to show contractions expect the frst puppy within around an hour or two. Beyond that consider consulting a vet

I would leave the pup wth the mom (making sure it’s safe) so the pup can suckle as it also help stimulate mother’s contraction. But, you can also put it in a warmed container or basket while mom is getting on with birthing the next puppies. :)

Either way I think helps but I would prefer the frst one coz I feel like it’s more uncomfortable for the mom if I take away her pup.
