With regard to the detail blending together on the carapace, I'm reminded of a comment about painting camouflage on SJ Games miniatures for their Ogre boardgame, talking about how it can make the miniatures disappear against the game board -- which is the point of camouflage. It's almost impossible to hide a moving object, but the coconut crab pattern does a very good job of breaking up the silhouette of the figure, so in the interest of making them pop on the tabletop, adding definition lines at the carapace joints is an excellent idea.

Thank you! I definitely agree that the pattern camouflages the models pretty well, but at the end of the day you still want to be able to tell what's going on :)

Your Tyranids are way more visually interesting then the others I found.

Thank you so much! I wasn't the original creator of the scheme but I've done my best to change it to be more vibrant and poppy. I have another video on the way with how to paint the guns and brains with the scheme if your interested :)

The audio does a fairly good job of describing what you’re doing; however, the subject is so small in the field of view that it’s difficult to see what you’re doing. If I hadn’t already seen the original creator’s videos I would likely be confused what you were doing in many of the steps. Keep at it, you’ll get there! 😁

I absolutely agree with you. After watching the original video over a few times I realized it was pretty hard to see what was happening. I have been making an effort to get close up shots for every part of the process going forward. Thank you!

Great video, but don't forget to mention original inventor of scheme, keeps you humble and honourable, two traits that are missing in so much content on the internet 😊

You're absolutely right; I realized that I had forgotten to credit catgut in my first video and I remedied that in the follow up video I did. I'll definitely link his channel in the description
