Hi there first time user of a sand pump. Please someone tell me what setting do i have it on to vacuum the bottom of my pool. I cant seem to find the answer anywhere 😩
@PracticalMechanicКүн бұрын
It sounds like you have the type of vacuum that can be attached to the drain port of your pool pump. If so, then set the pump to the 'Drain' setting (2 down arrows). Then turn the pump on to send water through the vacuum. You can download a 'cheat sheet' that tells what each setting does here: poolsforfools.com/pool-pump-settings-explained/ Good luck!

@ I have the Flow Clear Maintenance Set. I was just curious to know whats i’ve hooked it all up which cycle do I run & i think i’ve seen comments that said use the “Drain” cycle 👍

should the four bolts that hold in the hub assembly be replaced?
@PracticalMechanicКүн бұрын
Up to you. This should be decided on a case-by-case basis depending on how rusted they are.
@nostop2118Күн бұрын
@ thanks for the reply!! i’ll buy a couple extras before i get started in case the bottom ones are really rusted, i assume there’s no way to see them without removing a lot first
@PracticalMechanicКүн бұрын
@nostop2118 yeah, that's the best route to go. I replaced them on my Corolla because they were in rough shape. I think I ended up refusing the ones on the es300. Good luck! 👍

Not sure why you have to turn off the gas line when you can shut it off on the actual gas valve in the unit. 🤷🏼♂️

IMO, Dyson is simply an overpriced piece of junk. When they work as advertised, they are great. However, this is so seldom the case. Bad batteries, clogged filters , cracks in the plastic and several other issues are the norm. I've owned four of them and all have been troublesome. Never again will I purchase any Dyson product. Buyer be aware.

Likely the bearings. I haven't had much luck replacing bearings on these little electric motors and having them last very long after that, that's why I recommend replacing the whole thing, but your mileage may vary. Good luck! 👍

Do I need to drain pool down below the suction ports and drain the lines before doing this? Or is there a way I can Leave the pump running, and bypass the filter while I replace the cotton balls?
@PracticalMechanic16 күн бұрын
Yeah, good question. You shouldn't need to drain down the pool. You can turn the pump off and set the handle to X. Here are the instructions for replacing/cleaning the filter balls: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hGXKZaepab1md6c Good luck!

Usually "burning oil" means that you have to add oil more frequently. Doesn't necessarily mean you will see noticeable more smoke in the exhaust.

Does anyone know if these fuse or relays going out results in the defroster and other controls also not responding on the a/c panel? I’ve got air coming in but no other controls work or light up

Overall fine, but don't tip the dishwasher onto the front to access the bottom. That's not just the only finished surface, but also the oinly surface that has moving parts. Tip onto either side or the back.

Im having a hard time finding a replacement for our Weathermaker 58SX060CC Where do you advise shopping. My motor is fine, Id really just need to replace the 6" diameter fan if they are avaliable

Has anyone experienced a Bestway sand filter case splitting at the bottom? We fitted it in July 2024, it now has a 1 inch split on the bottom curve and no, we haven’t dropped it at any stage. Anyone have any idea how we can repair it ? We lost at least a lot of water.
@PracticalMechanicАй бұрын
Wow, I have not heard of that before! Did it freeze at any point? I guess I could understand if water froze, expanded, and cracked the plastic. Other than that, I don't have another suggestion. Good luck, hope you get it sorted out
