Well, that was 4 years ago so I don't recall cellos being spun. They sometimes bring tunes back a number of years later so I will keep that in mind so I am not focused on the violins if it happens.

Wow! I will pass your kind words on to my nephew Joseph who was one of the violinists for this performance when he was in high school. He will be thrilled! The name of the soloist is Daniel Colwell. I've listened to this rendition countless times since I was given the CD as a gift over 20 years ago. I heard a rendition by a British orchestra on a classical music station here in Arizona yesterday and decided I needed to get it uploaded to my channel.

I'm glad you enjoyed it! Of course all I do is hold the camera and try not to go too crazy with too much of moving it around. I just got finished with uploading a total of 14 videos from the Friday night performance. All of them are excellent but the musicians in the symphony sound like they do it for a living. There are 4 videos for them including a fantastic Phantom of the Opera medley!

I will be posting a piece in the next day or two by the Campo Verde Symphonic Strings that I recorded last night that will knock your socks off! I might be exaggerating a little bit because it will be a John Williams piece for which they did a nice job but it's hard to top what they did on this piece and on the Night on Bald Mountain!

Now comparing this junior high to a local Japanese jr high. Notice none of the string instruments have sheet music. kzbin.info/www/bejne/i4qyoJ2sgrGGfNU Another example of a Japanese local jr high playing Holst The Planets, Jupiter....with no music in front of them. Absolutely well balanced, well executed, well tuned... an awesome performance at any age... kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y3rQfZ53fd-Kr9U It's not that we don't have kids with talent, it's that excellence is neither taught nor expected. It should be!! You can see for yourself how far we are behind. Let's expect more of our kids...and expect it! kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y3rQfZ53fd-Kr9U

There was no link in your third comment so I removed it. I also removed your first comment because it was a band video. I have some band videos but I concentrate on orchestras here. The links in this comment are to some wonderful performances by the Japanese kids. The difference in practice time is obvious. But that deficit is largely made up by the time you are watching the symphonies and symphonic strings that I've posted here. A case in point would be Leroy Anderson's Christmas Festival performed by the Highland High Symphonic Strings in December of 2022. Here is a comment from the Leroy Anderson Foundation. @leroyandersonfoundation0447 @leroyandersonfoundation0447 1 year ago Wonderful performance. It is a joy to listen to this. These excellent musicians are playing at a professional level. Congratulations to everyone.
