Hello, how would these compare to tcx drifter? I tried both of them on n and actually tcx felt sturdier while these felt thin. I love ortholite soul liner, that is why I was buying salomon shoes. Now tcx has ortholite liners. I wonder if they r comparable protectionwise. Thank you.

The Sidi has more external protection. The TCX has a slightly thicker comfier lining. Both are for adv-touring rather than outright off-road. - Andrew

The weight lets it down for me personally. The Airoh Commander 2 is lighter (and cheaper) and includes the sun visor.

Couple of questions about this helmet are the goggles you say come with it photochromic too or just basic clear lenses? Also do you get a clear visor too or just the photochromic one? And does this deal with the goggles coning with it only appear on the top spec carbon version or do you get exactly the same goodies with the lower priced composite version of the helmet? Also while I think about it is there an extention to the nose deflector/breath gaurd in the box too or can you buy these seperate? Can you tell me what scott jacket you earing and trousers in this vid? Thanks for all your time.

See 01:53 in this video. Answers to all can be found there. Tinted on the 9.5 carbon, clear on the 8.5. You can upgrade the lens though to whatever finished you want. Yes you get a clear visor too. I am wearing the S ott Priority GTX jackt and trousers in this video. Review here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mZOtZ3mMl76VrM0

Nice review. I have this helmet in the "Red/Blue" and found it a great fit out of the box. Its a little noisier than expected but still much better than a Shoei moto x helmet or a HJC RPHA 71 sports touting helmet. My ONLY issue with it here in OZ is the venting. The front vent is fine but the top vents are way too small for the heat we get here in Australia. Open or closed I can barely tell the difference. The visor in the wind even @ over 140klm/h is only slightly noticeable... and I have had neck reconstruction surgery with a block, plate and screws so I'm on the lookout for stuff like that. I have found that a 700klm day is no trouble at all while wearing the Commander 2 helmet. I do love this helmet and the way it looks. Thanks Airoh.

Excited for this helmet! How was the photochromic visor with the peak? Was their any patterning with the peak giving shade? Thank you for the reviews!
@AdventureRiderMoto
@AdventureRiderMoto 5 күн бұрын
None at all! I should have made a bigger point of that. The shape of the peak is very clever; when you look down from above you don't see gaps, the gaps are from the levels built into it for airflow. As a result you don't get the annoying cut outs as with most other ADV helmets and photochromic visor combos - Andrew

Nice looking bucket. But a few key questions: How many shell sizes are there? How easy does the liner come out for washing? Are there cutouts for speakers? Shame that as a an eyeglasses wearer, I’m paying for goggles I won’t be able to use. I feel like that’s a miss…. Goggles are a hugely personal choice.

No integrated sun glasses, no micrometric closure, no way I'll buy it.
@AdventureRiderMoto
@AdventureRiderMoto 5 күн бұрын
It wouldn't need an integrated sun visor because the visor is photochromic. Double D ring is safer than micrometric closure. I've not seen micrometric on any 22.06 certified ADV helmets. - Andrew
@ERUtheWINDRIDER
@ERUtheWINDRIDER 5 күн бұрын
@AdventureRiderMoto All the ppl I know, ride with the sun visor up sunglasses down, especially in the summer, so the photochromic even if it is nice, is kinda useless, and good luck hanging your helmet from the handlebar with the double D, not to mention that micrometric is faster and easier to use with gloves. The safety card is what mfg use to convince you, that the cheaper system is somehow better, my neck is weaker than any of those systems anyway.

Hi Andrew. Thank you for this review. Very interested in this helmet, as well as the Airoh Commander 2, which I know you've also reviewed. A few questions: (1) can you get a photochromatic lens for the Airoh (£?); (2) can you wear goggles on the Airoh without removing the visor, as you have done here with the Leatt? (3) is there no internal sun visor on the Leatt, (4) on the non full carbon versions, which is lighter - Leatt or Airoh? , and (5) does the Leatt have a "channel" inside that allows you to wear glasses without getting discomfort from the arms of the glasses pressing in to the side of your head? 👍🏼👍🏼.... Hope these are helpful questions which you're other subscribers will find useful 😊 Steve A 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Hope my comment helps a bit 3) AFAIK Leatt don't have internal sun visor 4) looking at both website, i think Airoh have a bit of advantage with 1440±50g (Airoh) vs 1575±50g (Leatt) 5) i think most modern helmet usually have recess to make it glasses friendly

(1) At this time I do not believe you can get a photochromic lens for the Airoh. (2) Yes you can (3) Correct, no need for the extra weight etc since you have the photochromic one (4) Airoh is 1440, Leatt is 1525 so very similar. (5) There is a gap between lining section that should allow this but I hate saying 'it'll fit all glasses' because they all have different arm thickness etc. I don't see a problem but don't hold me to it! - Andrew

Nice review. I had never heard of Rebel tyres, despite working with tyres for years. Tyres are always a compromise, and these seem to be at the very far end of the spectrum. I don't agree that they are comletely unique though, as Metzeler makes the Karoo Extreme in 150/70-18 and 90/90-21 and they are even tubeless to boot, it's just that nobody seem to talk about those. Btw, you have a typo in the title of the video 🙃

The fueling ruined the Hornet for me. Such a shame this suffers from the same problem. I get super tense riding around town trying to keep a constant speed. Right wrist hurts from trying to keep the throttle perfectly in place, and the rest of my body is pulled tight like a bow in anticipation of the inevitable jolt.

Ok the one thing I came for you haven't covered which is goggles - I had the LS2 one but that was rubbish with goggles, the opening wasn't big enough and made it uncomfortable with my fave goggles. Have you worn this with goggles, if so which ones and will the visor close with goggles fitted? Thanks

I understand why you love these pants, and I'd like to own them myself. Just one issue with them. The Rev'it website mentions these pants are only CE "A" rated. So contrarary to what you write in your comment, there's no "AA" rating. For a pant that I'll be also using a lot on the road, I'd prefer a "AA" rating.

I own the t7 and just bought the kove 800, the on off you talk about is not that bad. The suspension compared between the two is the difference that makes the kove a bitter bike, out the box. What you guys forgot to talk about is the wheel base, the tenere is longer than the kove, not much about 55mm but that makes the t7 more planted than the kove, the kove you feel as if you site on the bike. Where the t7 you feel you site in the bike, out of the two I can't say which one will be best, at the price and weight of the kove, I had to give this bike a go, looking forward to taking this bike on my travels.
