Considering this podcast has an entire section dedicated to pedantry, I'm surprised to hear how often Amory Lorch gets called "Armoury" 😅 In all seriousness, great episode as always. I'm gradually working my way through these and enjoying them all!

Something I NEED to talk about with the King's Moot: is this vote like at a Battle of the Bands where it's essentially an applause-o-meter telling us who wins? Do the iron born care if someone cheers twice? Or would that get you some stabbed in the gut? Let's say you're holding a seal skin from the first guy, but then your neighbor sees you cheering for the next guy?! Did I miss something? Or is this pure pedantry lol

On the topic of Jorah's honour, I think he probably feels/felt at least somewhat justified with selling people into slavery because they were poachers. We all know that slavery is wrong but fans definitely have more sympathy towards Jorah than to the slavers of Slaver's Bay. There's a big difference between a totally innocent person being enslaved (or someone who is a slave from birth) and someone who has committed a crime and is then enslaved as a punishment. No one in Westeros would have cared if Jorah sent them to the Wall , but if someone is FORCED to join the Night's Watch, is that really so far removed from slavery? I know it's not actually as bad and they can potentially progress up the ranks etc, but it would still mean that they lose a lot of their rights, are forced to work for their "masters" and they can be punished severely or even killed for insubordination or desertion. Not trying to justify slavery here, just trying to suggest a possible reason why Jorah might have sold them without feeling tooo much guilt/dishonour since the people being directly affected were criminals. Taking or selling Longclaw would have affected his family who had done nothing wrong and that would have crossed the line and been too dishonourable in his mind

I checked the date that I listened to episode 1, which turned out to be 21st of June, so I satisfyingly got through all of your book 1 episodes in exactly 1 month. At that time I think you had around 390 subscribers and now you're up to 421, hopefully the channel continues to grow more and more! I've really been enjoying these 😁

Hearing you mention covid as it was just starting to really kick off was interesting. I imagine there'll be a bit more covid talk in future episodes. It's an interesting sort of time capsule. Oh, and another great episode!

I saw the podcast in my feed a couple of months ago and started adding it to my "listen later" playlist a few episodes at a time. I've only recently caught up to them in the playlist but I'm really enjoying them so far. It'll take me a long time to catch up with the most recent episodes but I'll get there eventually 😅

I so feel for you and your dog! I hope her mouth recovers soon! I have done the dog pill morning mix up too! When I drowsily put my dog's pill in my own mouth, it was quite a surprise, and I knew something was wrong because my pills don't taste vaguely of beef! I don't keep them in the same place anymore 🫣 When Arya and co. sailed between the Titan's legs I was surprised at the lack of bawdy jokes. I suppose it shows the respect they have for the Titan.

Thank you. She's back to normal now, just minus a good bit of chompers! Yes, I hadn't thought about the bawdy jokes that might've been made as they sailed underneath the Titan. Being that they're sailors, and bawdy jokes would seem like a native language to them, it must be a respect thing.

Thank you for this podcast! I can't wait until you get to the Dorne sub plots. I've read FFC twice now, and I can't seem to avoid zoning out a bit during those chapters...I need an explainer! Also, I've noticed you mention Roy Dotrice's narration and I'm so relieved to have someone talk about how goofy it sometimes is! I've begun listening on 1.2x speed as the series progresses and Roy's age advances and his rate of speech slows. I'm grateful for his performances! And I appreciate that giddy pyromancer that much more :)
