My son is 14 and getting very serious with trumpet. I live in WA now so not sure if he’ll end up in Eugene with the band or not one day, but that would be awesome if it happened. Great video! Go Ducks!

Have you never seen a marching band perform with a color guard or drill team? They almost always perform with rifles. Don't worry. They are replicas. Nobody is going to get hurt.

They are part of something called Color Guard - they are usually chunks of wood, primarily visual replicas

The brunette guy in the front who is doing "The Twist" looks like the lead for a Broadway musical (a good Twist dancer!!) BTW- whosever shot this footage--the close up photography really makes all the difference. So much better than the long shots from up in the boxes!! Love this--not just the choreography!~!! AAAAA++++ to the choreographers, the band leaders who approved this 'flash mob" and the dancers and musicians. Best I've seen in Pac 12 for decades...

Definitely one of the very BEST university FIGHT SONGS in the USA!!! It was written around 1914...and never gets old--a good brass/percussion marching band moving in formation across the field. I guess I'm just "old school" but my favorite seconds are 0:30 through 1:40. AAAA + + + + (Reminds me of Ohio State Ramp....) (from U-of Wash Husky grad...)
