I've been wondering this with all the new teams in the B1G. Have you guys considered adopting the tradition of the B1G where the bands play the opposing teams fight song during pregame to welcome to opposite team?

My selection for Marching Band of the day today, December 4, 2024, is the University of Oregon Marching Band! The Ducks Marching Band has had a great season once being allowed to start and has inspired the squad and fans to an amazing season full of performances and will get to experience the Playoffs with additional high stage performances!! Congratulations 🎉🎉🎉😎🎶🥁🏈

Wild emotions from the OMB for this game! This is something you will remember for a lifetime. I played in the Duck Basketball band in the 70’s. Our team had some great players at the time, so they were just getting competitive in the PAC-8 with UCLA and the Beavers, etc. So we were often incredibly excited when the team was winning. Our director in 1974 was the first person I ever saw Throw the O, which was how he signaled us to play Mighty Oregon on a moments notice. Now everyone does The O, but no one else did it back then! So now you know how it began.

They do what the athletics and marketing department tells them to do. Although members of the band want to join that tradition it hasn’t been approved

My son is 14 and getting very serious with trumpet. I live in WA now so not sure if he’ll end up in Eugene with the band or not one day, but that would be awesome if it happened. Great video! Go Ducks!
