How wide is the letter G fabric? Is it 3 inches like the side strips?

Hi there, yes it's in inches and the letter is 13 inches in height and 10 inches broad. The yellow strip is 2 inches broad. Add 1 inch for sewing (i.e. 1/2 inch on either sides)

I watch a lot of purse sewing videos and never thought of using a plastic bottle for shaping. I appreciate that you finish your work with hand sewing, it makes a big difference in the finished look! So many creators simply let the glue gun do all of the work.
