I owed the hand CEB press but haven't used it yet on my property in East Texas, I did a soil test and my soil is also very sandy with minimal clay. Like beach sand. I am currently digging deeper to see if I can obtain more clay in my mix.
@leeslivingoutofthenorm
@leeslivingoutofthenorm 28 күн бұрын
Thank you for your comment. We are going to mess around with the mixture some more. Try digging in different areas. Sandy soil may not be too bad than having too much clay soil for this type of build. You and us both just have to outsource clay. Good luck on your build!

You need 50-70 percent sand plus some gravel , 25-30 clay plus silt.... Am using a manual press to learn making these .learning curve is steep but once you get right mix you can make them fast ...1500. -2000 a day.

Thank you for your comment! That sounds exciting and promising to hear how many blocks you can make once we get our mix right!! Good luck on your build! We think we need about 7k blocks to build a house we are thinking of as of now lol 😅 Our house might end up 400 sqft because we don’t want to make blocks anymore. lol. We will see. Wish us luck! We cannot wait to get the point we just make blocks without thinking. Hopefully the day comes soon.

That soil is too sandy and has a less amount of clay, it is not good for this purpose ... Try with a soil of about 15 to 20% of clay, and Cement is just to help water resistant and proofing so 10% should be fine ... Clay is binding material here so it is needed and sand 70 to 75% (construction sand) is very important to make the formula strong and none sticky
@leeslivingoutofthenorm
@leeslivingoutofthenorm 28 күн бұрын
Thank you for your comment. Yes we definitely need more clay in our mix. Amount of water is still a challenge for us. We still have a lot to learn. Wish us luck!

@mosimba2665 21 күн бұрын
@@leeslivingoutofthenorm try this formula : 10% cement 15 -20% clay 70-75% sand 8% water - Again here water depends on if the sand is wet or not!!! - Cement is for water proofing - Clay is for binding - Water is for cement activation

The last time a solar sales guy came to the door, he happened to mention how expensive solar ground mounts are. I've seen some close to the ground mounts being about $100 per panel. If you are going big poles and structure, that gets more expensive, and shade is a premium thing in a lot of places, especially Arizona, so setting things up to also create some helpful shade is a plus. Of course roofs for catching water are also a high value in Arizona.
@OWK000
@OWK000 2 ай бұрын
Actually $$ correction. Saw a video review of IntegraRack: $545 for ground mount for 4 large panels, so more like almost $140 per panel. Mountings are expensive.

Normally, digging holes like that, you would dig a little bit of the hole and then pour water in and let it soak before digging more. Out in Arizona though, water is not as easy to come by. And then there are the rocks: water won't help that.

Also, maybe look into a soft starter. The power probably surges like an air-conditioning unit when certain tasks are performed. They use these on large air conditioners.

It’s drawing too much power for your solar system. Either the max power draw from the inverter or the battery bank can’t keep up with the power draw. It’s not the machine. I would rent a big gas generator, Plug in a device that will show you the power draw between the machine and the generator and then take note of how much power it’s drawing at different states of the machine usage. Then you’ll know your max draw and you can scale up your solar system to match. I think you simply need an inverter with a larger power draw. Mine says 4000w but it trips at much less power draw. my view is always double your inverter to what you think you actually need. Good luck guys! I love what you guys are doing.

One of the techniques that I thought of using for the block curing process was to install hot water solar panels to a wood kiln - the ability to cure the block under moist conditions increases the psi due to slow hydration . It is something that I would like to try to accomplish for the block to our well house. Just a small test project.
