Do you know what the drum configuration is? He is playing a Quinto as a main, he has a requinto in front of him. It appears he has a super tumba and a tumba on either side of the requinto and a Quinto and conga on the back left and right. Is that correct?

This is Crazy-the tuning scheme of Giovanni’s drums, along with their overblown signal, sounds so much like the Simmons in Bill Bruford’s opening solo from BB & The Beat…the same notes!

Ok I just went back to “The Beat”, and the Chord of Bill’s Simmons drums was a step higher…

It’s the easiest way to get clean doubles on hand drums
@jameschristie11824 ай бұрын
@@Gk2003m I’m still not sure how he’s doing it though.
@Gk2003m4 ай бұрын
@@jameschristie1182 Start slow. Hit with the heel of your hand, keeping the fingertips off the head. Let the fingertips fall to the skin as a consequence of the heel hit… almost as if there’s a fulcrum between your palm and your fingers. Just do that for awhile til you’re getting slow, consistent doubles. When you’ve gotten that, begin to increase speed. You’ll notice that your hand naturally pulls in toward your body as the speed increases.
@jameschristie11824 ай бұрын
@@Gk2003m thank you for that! I’ve been working on it for years. As 3 stroke ruff type embellishments .. 5,7 etc. stroke rolls. I’ve also been working a long time on fingertips first then heel on doubles….but I’ve not yet developed the inward motion on the doubles. I’m going to dedicate some time to developing that. Thanks again I really appreciate it!
