This pair really have their act together. Not all raptors do, but when you find a pair that do it is pure joy to watch. I like the way the nest chamber acts like an amplifier for their calls to each other.

She's making a rather large scrape so maybe 4 eggs this season. Looking forward to the whole thing.

This has to be the best nest box of all the ones I've seen on KZbin. Looking forward to the new season.

Maybe KP thinks that he is a she.

Maybe with the help of the British government they have introduced 'gender dysphoria' into the wildlife.

Since he's not the father doesn't this pose a problem in the nest?

Please stop making up ridiculous accusations about these birds! Everything they do is genetically programmed into them and they do NOT have human feelings.
@austin18394 жыл бұрын
Why do people insist on attributing human thoughts and emotions to these animals? It is customary for the Female to spend the most time brooding the chicks and feeding them while the Male spends most of its time hunting. If he had some grudge against her I doubt he'd stay around and continue to provide for them.

Now this is a great nest box! Plenty of room for the future chicks to grow and it looks like it's in a secure spot.

Super! The robin's nest outside my window has been abandoned by the adults, so it's nice to be cheered by this. Happy Easter!

absolutely love watching this; those eyases gaze up at their parent after being fed quite a lot and ..a look of worship. )))

Three chicks 14:20 on 16.04.19. No wonder she spent the previous hour (12:00) building a gravel wall in front of her -- her 'volcano cone' now contains chicks! She seems to be calling for food (?) 14:00 and got some for herself & chicks at 14:20.

Yep, I think that's spot on. His behaviour is very much out of character; he's not normally that brave! Consensus among my naturalist colleagues leaning towards him being 'hangry'.

beautiful; thank you so much. I love that the sound is good; their language is so nuanced. this one’s pretty typical of how the mums speak to their young while feeding.
