Jan 11th I am hosting a Murder Mystery party we rented a room at the Knights of Columbus, the murder happens in a old theater so I am trying to figure out how I can move the tables and chairs already there to look like an old theater. I appreciate your ideas, thank you.

This video was wonderful, can I use this for 55 and older community event? Where would you suggest I look for a kit? Thank you so much

You can definitely use a game like this for a 55 and older event :) Etsy is a great resource for murder mystery game kits. Try this one: www.etsy.com/listing/982244133/

Most are designed to be played just one time.

You didnt give away who the murderer was in this video..... did you? I am worried that this gave it away based on the letter he was holding up in the video.. and I already bought the kit.

We are planning an Alice in Wonderland sweet 16 mystery adventure and I'm incorporating a lot of your ideas. Guests have been requested to dress their best while they will go on an adventure through the forest, garden tea party, another room will be the mad hatters tea party and finally the Queens court. As they move through the party they will have actions, choices and games to discover one of two curiosities either who did the. Queen take off their head? Or where did the white rabbit go? Plot twist the Queen will take off the white rabbits head and guests will find out they've been chasing the same answer to two different mysteries! It's going to be epic!!!!

That sounds amazing! Love that you're combining Alice and a mystery :) Good luck!

Figure out which other suspect also has some clues pointing to them and plant lots of seeds of doubt about them to everyone who will listen. Share your theories about who the murderer could be every chance you get, as if you're gossiping or sharing secret information, so you seem like you're building a coalition team of good guys. Practice your poker face, so you can lie convincingly when someone gets too close to the truth. If you can laugh it off, so much the better (like "Yeah, that does make me look guilty, doesn't it? Someone is setting me up! I totally didn't do it.") Your best bet is to lean into any kind of doubt that players have about another suspect. Good luck!

I love watching your videos! You offer great tips on such a fun subject. It makes me wish I had been able to go to one of your immersive events, or, even better, work for you making them happen. 😊 When our children were younger, I loved to get elaborate with themed birthday parties. My favorite was when we turned our house into Hogwarts and Diagon Alley (twice). I don’t get to throw many events like that anymore, but I recently held an Alice in Wonderland themed Unbirthday tea party for my book club. I hope to find more excuses for hosting immersive events for adults in the future.

Thanks so much! I also started out planning themed birthday parties for my three children, and The Storyteller's Cottage was born to fill that creative gap for me when they all grew up and left home. I recently found a Meetup group near me for women over 50, where each member is encouraged to plan and host a themed event. I'm currently dreaming up new events to plan for them :) Hope you find something similar!

Thanks for asking! I would modify the mini stories and the fortune telling so that guests pull a random paper from a bowl -- you can type these up ahead of time and won't need anyone to monitor the activity. It will be sort of a grab & go kind of thing :)
