Yep I'm with you on that. Firewood is alot of other type of work that actually involves little sawing

There smaller saws suck also! I had a 25 and 17 for carving. 3 new carbs in both saws in 1 1/2 years and spark plug wires fall apart also! I have several echos I ve been running for years and never had problems with any on them other than preventive maintenance! I have a 462 and 66 that i ve have multiple carb issues and the fuel filters suck ass also not to mention the leaky oiler seals and the fuel lines are garbage when they go tit up I am back to HUSKY! They want to bankrupt ya on parts or sit ya down waiting for em on them new ones! I totally agree🤬😤😩💰💩💩💩

I appreciate your time explaining and showing what you have learned from your profession …that comment you have already made that mistake is bang on and one of the most annoying thing is one someone who hasn’t put time in or think they know something is them just wanting to hear themselves talk! thanks for your Simington and hand file videos full disclosure I’m just a firewood hack trying to learn

Do aftermarket pistons, rings ect hold up well enough for logging? Or is factory the only way to go. Cheers

None of the new saws make it a year without issues in Missouri. I'm curious, why a Cummins in the logging industry? Also, can you do a video on how you set up your truck for work and other use. Thank you.

I don't believe it is wrong for people to worship fictional gods, but to intentionally worship a power that desires pain and suffering of others in exchange for power is mighty telling of the person, however fictional the entity may be.

So did h2 or h3 end up being the sweet spot for you? I’m running an h3 and the first couple mags were just a litttttle chuggy chuggy so hoping maybe just dropping down to an h2 would help butter it out , as I don’t want to really do any drilling
@timberfallingcouple
@timberfallingcouple 9 сағат бұрын
See I've got one rifle length gas 18 inch upper that runs like that, and it won't go with an H2. But some guys have had luck. I just did one recently for a guy with an H2 buffer and a very heavy buffer spring and it ran in a pistol length gas system. I think it depends. It's worth trying before you start drilling. If your barrel is nitride dipped you won't be able to drill it anyways unless you take a carbide bit to it, that nitride is so hard I can't even touch it with steel tools. Something to think about in the future, I will not buy another nitride barrel, I can't even bite it with a pipe wrench or channel locks, and absolutely can't hold it in the jaws of a vise. Too hard and too slippery. My one little 11.5 inch gun I actually ground flats on the barrel with a grinder so I could grab it with a big crescent wrench. It would actually be cool if they came with flats on them just for silly stuff like muzzle devices and such. Something else to try if you don't mind being a redneck is running the H3 buffer, but start clipping coils off of your buffer spring until it either runs or quits running. For 12 bucks you can learn a lot about the system. You just take a set of linemans pliers and twist the last piece of the coil in and down so it doesn't damage the back end of your receiver extension. Anyway, I've made an H2 buffer work with a heavy spring in the pistol length unit, but the gun was very very well gassed. I have made one work in a rifle gas, rifle buffer and rifle spring lower, which also works with H3 and standard carbine spring. But same story, they are all very well gassed, and then the story with the 11.5 in this video here.

@ I’m running a 5.56, 12.5 upper. Barrel is 10.5 . Milspec gs block with milspec spring and h3 buffer
@timberfallingcouple
@timberfallingcouple 9 сағат бұрын
So is it a 12.5" barrel with a 10.5" gas port, or a 10.5" barrel with a 12.5" handguard? I just know that lots of these gun companies try to make them run soft so they will be smoother suppressed. I bet if you threw a suppressor on it it would be a zipper
@acetheshooter
@acetheshooter 9 сағат бұрын
@ it’s a 10.5 barrel, with a little 2’ flash can on the end with a 12.5 handgaurd, it’s a 10.5 length gas port I’m assuming
@timberfallingcouple
@timberfallingcouple 8 сағат бұрын
@acetheshooter well, the gas port would likely be pistol length or carbine length. If it is carbine length you might have a really hard time getting it to have enough gas. I dont know a mountain about the subject, because I am not crazy always suppressed guy. But you can watch hoplop has done a couple videos about "dissipators" if you just search KZbin for "Hop Dissipator" it will bring you there he's a sharp kid. But carbine gas port is still giving you three and a half inches of dwell time so I think it should go. Might need more gas.. Try welding a cap with a ⅜ inch centered hole to the end of your blast can 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤫 just kidding. Don't do that, that would make it a homemade whisper pickle.

Well, you can always consider immigrating to America. It's still pretty good here and we could use more decent folks, God knows millions of people came here across the southern ports of entry the last few years from a place where handguns are largely banned and into America

Ahahaha that's kind of funny. It is currently a broken industry in a lot of ways. But I suggest that guys invest some money in a hard hat, a pair of calked boots [pronounced 'cork boots'] and some good rigging britches and rain gear, then get in the associated oregon loggers or WLA or ACL directories and start making phone calls and asking logging outfits or contract cutters if they need a hand. Never a bad way to start calling and talking to a guy on the phone.

More gas. You can see between the low pressure .223 rounds and the high pressure 5.56 rounds a large increase in cyclic rate. As well as increasing the gas. You can see similar videos of suppressed vs unsuppressed fire with one.

What's that tape you carry and how is it used? Stay SAFE!
@timberfallingcouple
@timberfallingcouple 2 күн бұрын
That is a Spencer log tape or "spin tape" It has a horseshoe nail installed in the aught end and you press it into the tree at the butt of the tree and measure your log lengths from there. When you reach a preferred length and hop off the log to buck it off, you just jerk the tape end free. It is spring loaded and reels up fast into the spin tape. Then you buck your log, hop up, "plug in" and limb down and measure another log.

the problem with our current woodlot management isn't this fellow who loves his trade and is very skilled. Clear cutting to then plant a mono crop is a problem though. In the maritimes of Canada we are fighting the oil companies (who own the logging corporations here) to stop spraying chemicals over our forests and into the waterways. Also clear cutting is outdated, less board foot per acre over a hundred years. Look up case studies they exist!
