It's a nice laptop. Got the same one a while ago. The left hinge was broken but I managed to repair it with a chemical similar to J-B Weld, now it's nice and firm. Also I went through the process of getting the mediadirect function going again. Did you fix yours?

Hello sir. Thanks for the video. You may be my savior. I have this exact 2012 Acer aspire 7560G. Came with 8g Ram and 740G HDD. Upgraded to Windows 10, it takes almost 4 minutes to boot up. HDD is partitioned. First Linux Mint 17 and the second Ubuntu 20. Mint boots in 1.5 minute, Ubuntu in 5. Since I use this Acer for very light use (reading news and KZbin), I don't want to throw it way and decided to put a SSD. But I also noticed the second empty bay. You inserted the opened 512G with ease. Is this now free drive mSATA cause this part looks like one. In a nutshell, do you think a real mSATA drive bought on Amazon let's say will fit in the empty bay? If not, I have to buy a 2,5 SSD and I'd be ready to crack it open but will there be a part with the same shape that fits so well in the bay? I hope you can help me. I have one of these laptops and can confirm that fully functional gpus can be hard to come by as there was an issue with nvidia gpus at that time (bump gate) I finally managed to upgrade mine to dial 9800m gtx sli

I did a similar process about a year ago based on another video I saw at the time, but it killed the ssd for some unknown reason. I tried using the ssd in other computers, but it was definitely dead (not seen in bios or in Windows or Linux). The laptop still works, just haven't tried any other drives in that 2nd bay. I just use the standard bay and drive. I'm very thorough and consider myself an intermediate to advanced pc user. I'm glad it seemed to work for you though. Just subbed as I was looking at videos for disassembly to add thermal paste to give the laptop to my sister. Thanks for the video
