That little piece of music you have for the last half is really great! Is that you playing? Also I really enjoyed seeing this little design in action!

Impressive work, but for a reflector to produce a quality beam the contour needs to be parabolic, not spherical. Really admire the effort put into this though. Kind regards!

Instead of using all the bolts, could you clamp the top and bottom plates, and of course the stock, in a Harbor Freight 20 ton hydraulic press?

No, since I don't have a 20 ton press. You could give it a try, though!

Thanks a lot for the grease idea! A few months ago I made my own version for a part of a Bauhaus lamp. With brass it took several passes with heat treatment in between - in the end it was a success! -> kzbin.info/www/bejne/kGmbhXmcqZ6Sn8U

Couldn't you use water?
@poldiderbus3330
@poldiderbus3330 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, but the advantage of grease is that it is not creating leaks or losing pressure as easy as water. Also you can create pressures up to 300bar with a grease gun - and for pressurizing you just need your mussels. Last: Grease guns are quite cheap.

This is so beautifully considered and carefully made. Discerning and clear photography. Nothing unnecessary here. I don't know anything about engineering, but this is an incredibly poetic work of art! Thank you!

Damn nice work. Never thought it could be that easy either. Bet the most problematic part is sourcing or creating that die set. Great tutorial... if that is the intent. Great fun to watch just as is from a nerd point of view.

that is how we say in the UK 'the bollocks'. I really must try it. The polishing, was it just a hard rubber disc, no liquid? Why did you choose stainless, would have not aluminium not polish as well, but form easier?
