Thank you! I tried the floss trick and it didn’t work, your detailed tutorial really helped me, I was going to give up almost but then I remembered the section by section and kept going and the ring is off, saved me a hospital trip and a jeweler trip. God bless!

This video saved my wife’s ring and her finger! Thank you! With two people though, I continued unwrapping it from the bottom, pulling upwards, while my wife continued wrapping from the top, so it was just a continuous motion until it was free. Worked great! She is so relieved now!

The dental floss would have worked if you'd done it the right way.

Thank you so much!!!!!! I was going to go cut it off!!! Mine was on my finger for 6 years, couldn’t take it off for almost a year, tried dental floss and thread method as well… nothing worked. But the last couple of days it just got super swollen and bloody , so I used my tights and IT WORKED!!! Asked my mom for help. Screamed in the process and had to take breaks to breath, but it worked 😃 I used a petroleum based lip balm on my finger , reapplying every couple minutes. Good luck everybody, it’s definitely doable , even though pretty painful

Thankyou my rings had been stuck for a week and I found some nylon ribbon which worked well

I had a ring clip that made my ring so tight, it was impossible to get off and my finger swelled. I was looking through the suggestions on how to get it off. Good old bar soap. Sure enough, I soaped up my ring and finger and started twisting my ring. When I got the setting to the bottom of my finger, that is when I could get a good grip on it and slowly kept twisting it while pulling it off. I was so happy when my ring, finally, slipped off. I remembered, this was the way people removed rings when I was a youngster into my teens. Back in those days, we used angora yarn to make our rings tighter. I'm sure some of you remember this.

You need to thread the floss _down_ the finger, not up. Going up compresses the "material" towards the ring and makes it harder to get off. Put the floss under the ring first, and then wrap going towards the tip of the finger. Well, after continuing the vid I see you did the right thing, just with the nylon. If you'd done that with the floss, it would have worked as well. It was a technique problem, not a material problem.

Ok, guys, I will also write my experience to encourage you. I used the nylon to move my 2 ring to the middle of the finger. And and the critical point I started using the dental floss, as the nylon was just not sticking strongly enough. I could not put the dental floss end under the ring by that point, but it still worked. Floss is very painful indeed, and it is good idea to use it at the critical point only, and use nylon to bring the ring to this critical point. Maybe it is good idea to put both the nylon and floss under your ring at the beginning to be ready to use then both. And as many here mentioned - be patient. Do not give up. The pain means the ring is mowing.

I put on weight with pregnancy and breastfeeding and it reached the point where my wedding ring was so tight to my finger I was getting blisters 😢 I tried the floss but it hurt too much and then I saw your video this morning. We were literally planning to go to a jewellers today but now we don't need to! At least, not to cut it off 😅

I just used this to remove a stuck Oura ring. Nothing else worked, and my finger was getting pretty swollen. I took an ibuprofen 30-40 min before trying, soaked my whole hand in ice water for 10 min, then held it over my head for 10 min. I dunno if any of those extra steps helped, but that was what I did

OMG that worked amazingly! It took me Alot of dawn soap and about 20 minutes of me not believing it'd workbut still trusting the process. This was WELL WORTH cutting up a pair of pantyhose. I numbed my finger with ice water and stopped to squeeze the blood out of my finger before each new wrap so my finger didnt go purple.

Thankyou for sharing!! This worked for me. Like you said, it takes patience! I think I had about 5 times - each section quite small but it was shifting and I definitely knew it was moving and not slipping back down. My finger was so swollen so I am so appreciative!!

Thank you! This video was so so so helpful. I’ve been stressed for the last few days after realizing my ring was stuck. I Sacrificed a new pair of nylons for the hope that it would be the thing that worked for me and it was! Came off within 5 minutes with only some mild to moderate discomfort.

THANK YOU SOOOOOOOO MUCH!!!!! Words cannot express how grateful I am to you for coming up with this idea and making this video!!!! I tried everything to get my rings off and absolutely nothing worked and my finger was so swollen and angry. This method hurt but FAR less than the dental floss or trying to rock or twist the rings off. I didn’t have pantyhose so ran out to the drugstore as soon as I saw this video. I can’t remember the last time I bought pantyhose! Best $10 I’ve ever spent!!! 🙌🏻 I seriously owe you a drink or something!!! 🥂 THANK YOU!!! 🙏🏻🙌🏻

The dental floss may have worked but it appears that you wrapped your finger backwards with the dental floss thus pushing the swelling up towards the ring prior to attempting it's removal. This could definitely complicate the procedure. Always wrap from the ring, toward the end of the finger for best results. That being said, I can see the nylon material having an advantage over the dental floss due to material properties. Lubrication is always an added bonus for success as well.

Fingers crossed... the floss didn't help at all and I can't get it professionally cut because mine is a literal thick silver ring made of STEEL. I haven't taken it off for 5 years as I grew up... will come back if it was successful. Didn't work, I'll try again tomorrow when my puffed finger heal from pain...

THANK YOU so much for posting this video. Clear and upclose so I can see what you did. I tried the regular string at first and it was digging in my skin making the pain worse. We only have dental piks home so while my husband went to buy dental floss string at 6AM I found your video. I used your method instead and although it hurt cuz my finger was very swolen it truly worked! I had both rings on. I did one ring at a time and it probably took 30 seconds each ring. 👏🏽 👏🏽
