I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all the sound men who I ever worked with in the state of Maine for turning my volume down in the PA and keeping me squashed because I was born out of state! Thanks guys…

These are the first two songs on a video tape we recorded on over 100 times. We used to play all three sets twice a day recording all of it and then erasing it all the next day. From noon till midnight we slaved.

Chris it's been a while since I've looked you up. Marilyn is recovering from a hip fracture from a fall. She's 84 now. I just reached the big 72! She is a month into recovery and doing well. I'm her home nurse. Doing all I can. I am happy to see this video. I am a big heavy disabled old guy now but when I went from high school to the Air Force, I had been into a tv series on public tv before joining the force. It was an exercise program called Yoga For Health hosted by Richard Hittleman. I started doing yoga. Back then I used to eat like a horse, but I was so active that I was very light weight and people would say, did you forget to eat? Anyhow in the force I continued to do my yoga and had several of Richard Hittleman's books to use as guides. I could say he was my first guru. I'm trying to shorten this story just a few points to make. In the force you get a job an assignment and you work at it just like having a regular job. What I loved was there is actually a lot of free time. Every base had a gym. I went to the gym every day. I only drank water between 2 meals a day. Breakfast and late dinner. Lunch was maybe a quick snack. These 4 air force years were 4 of my best. Looking back, I plainly can see why it was easy for me back then. I had a job and belonged to something, but I was also unattached to commitments as in contact with society. It was like I was suspended in A Space In Time. (Ten Years After I love that album) Anyhow I got out of the force fell in love with the first girl I met married and was immersed into making a family, job and back into the world. In the force was like being in orbit hovering around but just above everything. So, yoga and living good was so easy. Involved in the family life and working world I got way off the trail and ended up disabled and struggling to get back to that space in time. In the air force I went to libraries and USO clubs I studied into Eastern religions. George Harrison my favorite Beatle had me into Sitar and Ravi Shankar. I have always had a yearning to go to India, but then like in one of George's sitar songs, like he says, without going out of your door, you can know the ways of heaven. I'd still like to go there, but we are there if we can perceive. At the USO clubs they had soundproof booths with big soundproof windows so you could see all around and others could see but not hear you. Me and air force buddies would go in and beat on a set of drums and or play guitars really loud. Man, what fun times! I'm still practicing guitar every day, trying to get to open mics. Russell Snyder has one at Finback Alehouse in Bar Harbor Friday nights. I told him to look you up on youtube. Ironically, I just came down with a sinus infection maybe caused by getting a cold and nosebleed mixed in. They have tested me twice and I have no covid. I'm hoping to be healthy again in a week or so. My bass player friend Tim had a place in Florida. You met him at Little A's he had the long grey hair with the long ponytail. He died suddenly just before thanksgiving. Tim Brown. I posted a pic on FB of you on drums and Tim on bass at Little A's. Little A's got sold. It's a tropical food restaurant now. My soul is calling me back to that space in time. I like your videos. Take care. Frank Oh, just remembered. One more thing. A song I have been mastering lately is Rock n Roll Widow by Wishbone Ashe. It's from Live Dates which was released in 1973 the year I arrived in England. I was there for my last 2 years of air force, loved every minute. When I arrived at the base, I bought a nice fancy pioneer record player with great speakers that I had to keep turning down in the barracks! Anyhow first time I went to a record shop in Ipswich, the first album I picked up to check out was Live Dates by Wishbone Ashe. That album christened my new pioneer system. I had a guitar and for jam sessions, the guy across the hall played bass and my roommate from Puerto Rico played the bongos. Man, we had fun!

Hi Cris! With all due respect, you are a very capable player to be playing in this old fashion. I would love to see you getting the most out of your skills by playing a backing track of this song instead of over the original. Recording. Thanks for posting and good luck.

We played a time or two at Franklin Veteran's Club and Little A's. Time continues to fly by. I remember when you left DownEast as you sold your place in Winter Harbor. Since covid everything here has slowed to a standstill. Russell Snyder is doing a Wednesday night open mic at Finback in Bar Harbor. I've only played and sang there once, may go next week. People here still ask me if I ever hear from you. I thought I'd take a chance and type in your name to see if you had anything on youtube. I knew you as Chris Belle but remembered you telling me about the Isle part of the name. Glad to see you have a new place. Do you still use solar power? I hope you don't mind that I subscribed to your channel. I'm glad to get a chance to see and hear you play again. Wondering if you could do something by King Crimson. I'm still playing acoustic mostly. Take care and good luck to you. You said I'm a crooner. I'll be singing Man In The Middle written by Maurice Gibb and by The Bee Gees.
