Well i have to say Bloody great clip. Im 51 yrs old i started welding in 1990 alloy boats building.. mig,tig and pulse mig. And then low carbon steel.. ultra sound Tested and electric crack testing... I have literally welded a line to the moon and back.. you're knowledge is great.. the only thing I can add is any parent metal 25 mm or thicker requires pree and post heat so you can control post heat.. The biggest issue is the HAS zone Wich is why kjl is reqired .you have a fillet weld you combine both pieces off plate to get the required heat input etc. I also push my mig gun .. if it has slag you drag is a MYTH. You have a 15 degrees push or pull angle pulling gun you do get better preparation pushing is good penetration. I do use for root runs vertical welding is best for best welds.. Submerged arc welding is very boring ..bisalloy too laborious..im a kiwi 34 years welding in New Zealand

If you get persistent cracks in welds and persistent porosity in welds ,give it up and seek another career path ,welding is a skill that’s self taught the answer is burn wire it’s and lots of wire in all positions don’t be scared t don’t bite

Hello, author, I found the title 21_26_27_28_46_47 in the book. I can't find the answer at all, or it may be my translation software and the possibility of translation error.

Oh, my god, I just finished the A and C exams last month, and I almost passed them all. Then I came to watch your video and found that your questions were very similar to those on the computer exam. How did you do it?It's a great help to me, but I can't read English. I can only test the translator's translation one question at a time.😂👍👍👍

I watched the entire video and kept track of my answers. There are several mistakes and misworded questions, but It was a valuable learning tool. Here's a list of the things I found confusing or incorrect: 4. Submerged arc welding has the arc submerged under the flux powder so you can’t see it, therefore a shaded lens is not required. I find nothing about lens shading for SAW. 5. Googling caulk weld, it says it’s a nonstandard term for a seal weld. 7. Sketch is of an electro-slag cutting process not a gas-tungsten welding process. 37. There is no answer option f. 53. Sketch is of a PAC cutting operation not GMAW and the question is misspelled. 77. According to the OSHA Eye Protection Against Radiant Energy During Welding, for gas welding anything under 1/8” thick, OSHA recommends a #4 and ANSI/ AWS recommends a #5 shade. 84. There is no option e 90. Magnetic particle inspection is most suitable for: “e. The residual magnetism of a weldment”???? I’m guessing the answer is a. Also I believe answer c. has errors and doesn’t make sense. 93. A welding inspector must be ethical primarily in order to: “b. Render impartial decisions” and not “d. To safeguard the public’s health and well being”? I would think it would be “e. Both B and D” if not just D 99. Reverse polarity is a nonstandard term for: “a. Direct current electrode positive”. If it’s “b. Direct current electrode negative” it’s not reverse polarity. I would think “d. Direct current reverse polarity” would also be an acceptable answer. 102. This is a poorly worded question that is missing information. As a result of it I learned that MPI can sense flaws from the surface down to about .08-.100” below the surface, so I guess I’m glad I spent the time trying to understand and answer it. 108. Answer a. is part of the question, so answer options b-e should be answers options a-d. 123. Guided bend specimens may be: :a. longitudinal or transverse to the weld axis” and: “c: bent in a wrap-around test jig”. I’m not sure how you: b. Bend a specimen in a tensile test machine. 124. You can UT and leak test a brazed joint but NOT torsion test it? 130. OFC is better for cutting really thick ferrous metal, PAC is better for sheetmetal, nonferrous metal and stainless, so answer option e. 132. Option d. is incomplete 139. I assume this question meant to say “Low hydrogen ELECTRODES should be stored…”. I am under the impression that low hydrogen electrodes need no special storage until after the hermetically sealed container is opened for the first time and the electrodes are exposed to ambient air. A few hours after that they need to be stored in an oven to prevent absorbing moisture. a. and b. seem to be repeats with one not quite as incomplete as the other. 145. Acetylene is unstable above 15psi from everything I’ve read. There were more typos and errors, but I just focused on the ones it said I got wrong and listed here. Again I do appreciate whoever took the time to publish this on KZbin. I’m just here for educational purposes, not to bully anyone. I hope my comments are helpful to the publisher or anyone else trying to take this long sample test.
