Ahh , this reminds me of the many times that I drove 1561 at Cohunu Park , it "was" such a great loco to drive ; I've bought back my railcar from Toodyay so why not come over for a visit Dylan as it'll be running every night during December through our Christmas light display until New Year's Eve ; I only wish that I could've brought my railcar down to Bunbury for Sandgropers but there was too much on the go to make it happen tho.

i had some spare time about a week ago when i was over that way and stopped in near where you were. omg its changed since i was last there about 6 months ago. the sidings where the unloved locos were stored have gone. the office building has gone. in fact, everything has gone and a new building is being put there. and the rail yard was throbbing with activity. trains coming and going in both directions. and the x was going back and forth. and the poor old english electric loco up against a buffer.

ive got some questions. its a garrett. any particular garrett it was modelled after? i couldnt see any articulation though it probably wouldnt need it. is it articulated? i didnt see any draughting in the firebox when the door was open. does it have draughting like full sized locos? is the regulator the tap on the left? do you use collie coal or do you get some good stuff from nsw? ive noticed the good weather protection for patrons at the station near the kent st weir. how come the local stations on the perth public system have a big fail for weather protection?
@dylanaudrain3 жыл бұрын
We use shitty collie coal and the drafting is done by the blower but Is also done by the exhaust
@vsvnrg32633 жыл бұрын
@@dylanaudrain , collie coal? do you keep it under water? one day when i had nothing to do i came upon the 'coal dam' (if that's what its called) out midland way. it seems that collie coal spontaneously combusts.
@dylanaudrain3 жыл бұрын
We leave the coal in the sample bags they come in usually have some water in them but they sweat a lot but wen left in coal wagon we do wet them occasionally
@vsvnrg32633 жыл бұрын
@@dylanaudrain , have you visited the coal dam out at midland? fascinating for train nerds. i suggest you do if only to confirm you are not taking risks with how you store your coal. it is likely that only big stores are a fire hazard. china has a problem with spontaneous coal fires. it has a lot of low quality deposits and requires that they remain well covered. the problem happens when people steal coal for their home use then spontaneous combustion happens and it takes a lot of effort to put them out.
@dylanaudrain2 жыл бұрын
The midland coal dam has no longer got any coal from what people have been told and yes can store coal in water but not suitable for miniature trains but full size yes
