Every time I sing this song at a jam night somewhere, everyone wants to know who sang it, or where they can buy it. I think it's a classic, and I still sing it today, just me and my guitar.

Tom T used to come & give a free concert the week in 4th of July every year when I was a kid visiting Olive Hill, KY. His home town & my mom's. He was so kind. He used to come & kiss my grandma on the cheek as he dated my aunt when they were young.... kind kind man and what a story taeller!

I completely support and share Bill's comment and sentiment, these three gentlemen were the finest singers there has been what I wouldn't give to play along with them. Love his voice and the thing he doe's with his eye brow and i also love his laugh... never heard anyone with a laugh like ferlin ...one of the best singers in country but country was blessed with so much talent then unlike todays pop country.. i hate most of the new stuff..all sounds the same..

I agree with all of those who wrote, this man had an amazing voice. This song gets better with age! I love to contrast this version with the one he did not too many years before he died. Both wonderful.!

This is the tone of the songs I grew up listening to. I guess you would call it classic country because it was not as hillbilly as some others. It was the predecessor to early rock n' roll.
