If Amazon let Amanda Caudell keep the download of Puss in Boots after losing the license to provide the movie, Dreamworks would sue Amazon, but what section would Dreamworks quote from U.S. Copyright Law?
@worldquestioneer1533Күн бұрын
Instead of filing a lawsuit, Amanda caudell should draft a bill in the congress, banning rights holders from revoking customer’s rights to purchase movies. Unfortunately, the scope would only be in the jurisdiction of the United States.

“However, if the platform no longer has access to the license, guess what? Amazon loses the license to provide the movie, but lets all those who purchased the movie keep the movie, and the rights holder sues Amazon, but what section would the rights holder quote from U.S. copyright law?

These days, I can see a fire sale, from the die hard movie, being more realistically happening nowadays than it was when I was in college taking computer science class. Coincidentally I asked my teacher the same question, and at the time we weren't so dependent on the internet and computers for everything. He said it was remotely possible, but the risk could be increased depending on our dependency on the internet and computers. Coincidentally, you were one of the First videos when I looked this up, because I recently was watching all the Die Hard movies and this question popped in my head while watching the movie, again. And honestly I think the plausibility of this event happening in real life is much greater than it used to be. To think if you laptops, smartphones, could disable our entire infrastructure and economy. And we'd be at the whim or Ransom of someone else in order to stop it or prevent the destruction of our entire culture. A coordinated attack has been proven it can happen through a way of denial of access, overloading a server or site. It's already happened to the FBI at least once. What's to say you couldn't do it to a city or even an entire economy for government.

You can watch Joyce work from his notes and grasp/enjoy 100% more of what each part of "Ulysses" is doing with the rare very readable little paperback "Ulysses on the Liffey" by Joyce's great biographer Richard Ellmann. The book shows you Joyce's outlines for each episode and so the levels of aesthetic, philosophical, ethical and moral "arguments" about life that Joyce was working through---and you see/admire the more that Joyce was not so much the "indifferent" artist as he was a very reticent and understated proponent of a more free, joyful and loving human being for all of us. Read "Liffey" and then read "Ulysses" again and you'll see the real cutting edge of Joyce's mind dissecting and refreshing human being itself.

Plenty of Incels come from Tiger parent household. At a young age they were told to sit down and study and never socialize. Since their social development is stunted they couldn't properly make connections and struggled with dating/friendships. The toxic mentality of hard work instilled at a young age gives them resentment towards self improvement. And when another Incel wants to help himself they actively discouraged since they are projecting their Jungian Shadow of hard work.

Guys that just haven't had sex for whatever reason please don't feel bad. Don't let society tell you how you need to be. It doesn't mean you are any less a man. You are not correct. I see you have a good intention to support virgins, but people are making mistakes by looking on sex as some kind of luxury. Sex is biological function just like eating, sleeping etc. We all have that things down there for a reason: to use it. So in some way, we are owned sex because nature want us to have it. If am denied to drive new BMW, who cares, but if society denies me (for various reasons) to have sex, that's a problem because am denied one whole biological function. Just as not eating for a weeks have consequences, so does not having sex for a long time (or never in this case). So its not normal nor natural to be virgin. It has to implode sooner or later. In 2007 when this movie was released, the possibility of something like this had been batted around for a number of years. There were repeated incidents and rumors that something like it could be done relatively easily. It was difficult to be sure what was fact or fake. Considering all of that I would say 15 years ago it was a definite possibility it could be successful. These days I think it would be much more difficult. One thing is I've stopped hearing or seeing in the news of incidents where someone succeeded in breaking into say defense department computers or the electric grid like I did then. That would seem to imply that computer security has been amped up to a level that is beyond some random hacker(s) ability to breaking into the computer systems. That still leaves nation level funded hackers with much more skill and abilities as a danger. Countries like Russia and China have been implicated in hacks for ransom in recent years. The U.S. also able to afford some of best if not the best hackers. I would say also some of the bigger criminal organizations like the Russian mafia, Yacuza, or maybe the old style Mafia could potentially be a threat to our systems. Most of these people don't really want to cause a total breakdown of our computer systems as it would be as harmful to them as us. Also, our ability to retaliate to such an attack would be as good as if not better than theirs. Sort of a computer mutually assured destruction. In conclusion, I would say it could be done, but it would be very stupid due the consequences coming from our country.

Great podcast. I’m reading their work as part of my masters and it’s a shame they didn’t point out in their paper that masculinity has positive aspects as they do here. They somehow explain away incel and non-incel men as being classically hegemonic without any metrics that qualify their statement. My concern is that this negative view of masculinity then provides even more reason for men to join these groups. Thus countering the hard work and empathy they clearly have for this subculture
