I am new in Excel Power Query. Just found out how it is powerful. I wondered how cell parameters a list like features. I thought that it is query. Thank to your video, I found out that they are simple cell parameters with list Data Validation. Many thanks and good luck!

Hi David, this is a great video. I'm stuck with producing a stacked column chart. Am I able to do it direct from the data source like how you did with the other charts? My dashboard is on another sheet, by the way.

Or is pivot tables the only way to do a stacked column chart

I wonder how you did that you can see in drilled page all Provinces available in slicer. In my case when I use drill through it automatically narrows down the elements in slicer to just one.
@NzStudio0011 күн бұрын
Impressive, but I don't like using slicer instead I use other functions and dropdowns.
@learnspreadsheets11 күн бұрын
Thanks! Fair enough, dropdowns can also work but linked to a Pivot in another way, or via formulas

I love how you cover so much content so quickly. All of these were very valuable learnings. I am trying to use the brackets to aggregate filtered data across multiple tabs, like this: =query({tab1; tab2; tab3}, "Select * where col1 = 'test' "). It is working great, but the issue I am seeing is that the dynamic data is not sortable in the new sheet. Is there a way to make these dynamic arrays sortable using an interactable table (Not by changing the query by adding sort and filter arguments)?
@learnspreadsheets19 күн бұрын
Thanks for saying, happy to help! Hmmm if you want to autosort them you’d need to use a function, =SORT could work if you don’t want to use the QUERY parameters, I have another video on the query parameters!

How to get this in matrix format like in a normal pivot table we can add two fields in rows?
@learnspreadsheetsАй бұрын
Hello, the example you ask for is mentioned in the video, using PIVOTBY and then HSTACK in the "row fields" to combine two columns. This article explains in text format with a downloadable workbook too: www.icaew.com/technical/technology/excel-community/excel-community-articles/2024/excels-groupby-and-pivotby-functions

I am using the employee attendance record template in Excel. I want to add some extra leave types. How do I make the new leave types color the days on the calendar view?
@learnspreadsheetsАй бұрын
Hi, I'm not familiar with the attendance record template sorry, but conditional formatting > Highlight cell rules > Text that contains should work. You need to add a new rule for each text entry

Hello, Following your training on Tuesday, December 3 at 4:30 p.m., I have a question: I have an Excel cell that contains: 20 / 5. When I use the formula =TRIM(NUMBERVALUE()) it gives me the result: 45432 while I want the result to be 4. For another cell containing: 105 / 6, using the same formula, we get: #Value! while I want the result to be 17.5. Is there a solution? Thank you
@learnspreadsheetsАй бұрын
Hi, a few things are happening. 1. It converts 20 / 5 into a date this year so 20/5/2024. TRIM and NUMBERVALUE won't help. You must enter =20/5 to return 4, I think starting with = in the 2nd example should work too, but let meknow if you have issues
