I don't think Office Scripts in its current iteration is the strongest, I love Power Query and that is very underutilised, but I'm pretty sure that Excel will live on for many more decades!

Hello, the example you ask for is mentioned in the video, using PIVOTBY and then HSTACK in the "row fields" to combine two columns. Hi, I'm not familiar with the attendance record template sorry, but conditional formatting > Highlight cell rules > Text that contains should work. You need to add a new rule for each text entry

Hello, Following your training on Tuesday, December 3 at 4:30 p.m., I have a question: I have an Excel cell that contains: 20 / 5. When I use the formula =TRIM(NUMBERVALUE()) it gives me the result: 45432 while I want the result to be 4. For another cell containing: 105 / 6, using the same formula, we get: #Value! while I want the result to be 17.5. Is there a solution? Thank you

Hi, a few things are happening. 1. It converts 20 / 5 into a date this year so 20/5/2024. TRIM and NUMBERVALUE won't help. You must enter =20/5 to return 4, I think starting with = in the 2nd example should work too, but let meknow if you have issues

Found the Work Around. See Formula =VSTACK(TAKE(Table1[#Headers],1),SORT(FILTER(Table1,Table1[Year]=B34),2,1))

If you do the same method and VSTACK the header row to the rest of table it should work, but in my opinion it should be easier than it is!

Hi David, Great content...thank you. I have one use case where I need to export the matrix visual data to csv/excel in the same layout from Power BI matrix visual. I am showing data in Power BI matrix visual like this. Name Sales Profit Column1 500 200 Column2 500 200 Column3 500 200 Column4 500 200 Column5 500 200 Type1 200 50 Type2 100 50 Subtype1 100 50 Type3 200 100 Subtype1 100 50 Subtype2 100 50 Could you please suggest what are the best ways to export the same layout data to csv or excel apart from using (...) from Power BI service. I tried with Power Automate, but able to achieve till "Column5" and I have used xml step and xpath expressions inside json to achieve till column5, but got stuck to achieve others levels like Types and SubTypes which are dynamic. I need help ASAP...I have real deliverables to complete. Thanks in advance.

Very helpful but not the exact thing I was looking for but maybe you can answer if what I'm looking for is possible and in which case I'd like to know how. I have a google sheet with 2 different arks. First ark has a lot of check boxes and when those are marked "true" or "false" the color changes as I want them too. Second ark I want a text to be colored whether those boxes from ark one is true or false. Is this possible and if yes then how? Really been looking around and haven't found the trick to it yet :/

Also tried to fix it by making another section on ark 2 = the check boxes from the first ark. When I check the box on ark 1 it shows true or false on the ark 2 but for some reason it doesn't change any color even if I put in the formating =$E5="true"

I would use =FILTER with SORTBY to return a list via a formula, its more flexible

I have a bunch of URLs with the UTF8 characters in them. I'm trying to replace each instance with the actual character (i.e. %26 would be updated to &). I've imported my data and created a list like you showed but since there's so many and some have multiple % signs, it's not possible to do it the way outlined in this video. Is there an alternative method?

I used it and its so much better! however, I do have a question though, when using it, I encountered the same problem as the last part of the video, which gave me #REF!, and says that "you don't have access to these" something and it does not provide the allow access option. how to address this problem? thank you so much by the way for the very informative video.

What if you have multiple events on the same date, are you able to put this into different cells rather than combining them with text join?

That would be difficult with this method, and hard to constrain as each date could be an undetermined number of rows/cols

Totally agree that this is a great new feature. It will definitely cut down on my reliance on Query - which can be confusing for other users. I wonder if the inability to block entries that don't match the required formatting is due to the number of people (me included) who use Google Forms linked to the Table.

You can but manual, if you type in a cell above or below the column =sum( then it will suggest summing that column, but no auto total rows like Excel
