And, as always, I can't be more humbled by your kind words. You know what? The possibility of a sort of "best of" double LP/CD physical release is actually in the air. I'm talking about it with my Distant Future comrades trying to understand what's the cheapest way to do it and what tracks should be in there. I was thinking of a super ultra limited edition, of course. After Model Decay is out I will concentrate in re-editing / re-mixing / re-mastering some tracks that I think are still kinda good from my past releases but sounded like crap because I completely skipped the mixing phase: back then I was like MNM and MD stereo outs straight into the soundcard and that's it. I completely overlooked it. Now I have a nice console1 setup so mixing/mastering is a waaay nicer process with great returns from a sound quality standpoint. I can't assure anything, but something may be available soon :)

Wohooo ❤ Super nice! (and the first time, I heard a Buromaschinen track with a 4-to-the-floor). Looking forward to the EP release!
@buromaschinen3 ай бұрын
Hey, Thanks! I do love 4-to-the-floor tracks, actually most of my tracks start with simple drum patterns, but I never can't keep my hands off the MD and end up making my usual messy stuff. :) In my old productions there are plenty 4/4 tracks, but I won't link them here because they are plain horrible XD
@acid_gray3 ай бұрын
@@buromaschinen I love your drum workouts on the MD - quite unique🥰 How many tracks do you effectively use on MnM and A4 on this track (all 6+4)?
@buromaschinen3 ай бұрын
@@acid_gray It's 5 tracks on the monomachine (on 2 stereo outs) and 2 A4 (one is a monophonic track and a 3 notes poly one). The very first sound you hear is a Monomachine DigiENS. When it feels like it's used in poly mode (because the sound tail doesn't get cut by the next note) it's just because that melody spends 2 of the 5 tracks used. Tracks 1 and 2 are identical, they just have half the notes so that they don't conflict on a gate level. Same goes with the mellow pulse wave mid song (they are on track 4 and 5, Swave ENS). Differently, track 3 (another DigiENS) uses the gate conflict on purpose, so you can hear the attack changing from shallow to harsh just because of the monophonic limitations of the sound. If you use the adsr along with a specific pattern metric you can achieve those nice change in sound dynamic without even having to use plocks.
@acid_gray3 ай бұрын
@@buromaschinen Thank you so much! Sounds absolutely straightforward! I am currently working a lot on MD and MnM and struggled a bit how to embed the A4 without overspilling everything with too many tracks!
@buromaschinen3 ай бұрын
@@acid_gray yeah, I totally relate to that feeling. I love the mono because it forces you work on limitations, when I added the A4 in my workflow it somehow "dampened" my awareness on composition and synthesis detail.

Ive never been able to tell if Autechre is carefully constructed complex rhythems with 64s and nested tuplets, or if it's just haphazardly made with trial and error until they're like, Bloody hell, play that one again! Or both XD

how long did it take you to create this? I'm eager to jump in and buy one but I hear it's got a steep learning curve
@buromaschinen5 ай бұрын
Maybe 2 hours? Can't remember, but it was a quick deal, like most of my tracks. The machinedrum hard to learn? I think it's kind of a myth. Probably it's because the monomachine is waaaay more a difficult machine to master. Machinedrum is very accessible, in my opinion. It is also deep as hell: truly mastering all its possibilities is just plain impossible. That makes it a machine that it's definitely worth the money, I guess. I'm using it since 2006 and it's still my favourite piece of hardware along with the Mono.
