Hello Chris, I have the opposite problem - I bought the Sportneer Magnetic Bike Trainer and I have a bolt on axle. The instructions say "do not use the quick release if your bike has a bolt axle" What adjustments do you recommend in order to use my Shimano 2 speed mountain bike? Thank you for your time and consideration.

When I compared the CC-4 with a gen sram chain checker on my flat top axs rival the sram fat top check tool went in 1/2 way. The CC-4 still does not go in, at all hmm. I'm thinking the cc-4 is not that accurate

The cc-4 looked like it did not go in on the worn chain

Thanks for the video! I recently purchased it and noticed that even with the highest gear on the bike and the resistance on the saris all the way up , I still don’t get enough watts/resistance. When I turn the yellow knob I hear a click after some point which probably means that it reached its max. How can you increase the resistance more? Thank you!

I have acquired one of these that had some arching at the battery connector on the frame..I have replaced the port but there is life in the bike..First place to check would be the controller right? Also , because the battery doesnt seem to be taking charge after the arching,,I had to connect a different battery to the input ports via wires etc. My secondary question is,,these bikes can be powered by other types of batteries? I assume so but just wanted to be sure.

V-brakes have two tensioning screws, cantilevers only one. I love cantilevers, once they're set they don't go wrong for years, whereas V-brakes always have problems. On my Vivente World Randonneur, there's a disc brake on the rear wheel, but also cantilevers as replacements, which is a lot more reliable than V-brakes.

Before attempting this repair yourself, always read the comments. The following comments here are very important to note. At 12:25 you're instructed to position the the gap towards the front of the bike. I recommend you place the gap in the back. This will discourage dirt/debris from entering the bearings. A common problem with bikes equipped with future shocks are premature bearing failures. At 16:20 you did not properly tighten the set screws. This is the most common mistake people make, that will result in failure! Hold the lower screw with the appropriate 3mm wrench as you tighten the upper screw. At no time did I see Chris use any kind of lubricant or carbon paste. It is highly recommended to do so, to prevent seizing. Other than that, it a good video!

regarding putting the compression ring in with the gap at the back, do you not think it's just as likely to allow water into the gap if it's at the back? at the back is the lowest point so any water that runs off the top tube will go straight down towards it. if its at the front it's at least higher up and probably more difficult for water to go down there?
@TrekSLDuraAceАй бұрын
@@fenwick458 I think it is less likely for water to find itself down the gap. However, regardless of where you place the gap, if you're using water under pressure to clean your bike, water will find its way into all kinds of places it shouldn't be. On my personal Diverge, I replaced the retaining ring with a re-designed unit made from high tensile material, 4 adjustment screws, and perpendicular locking screws. I placed the gap towards the back where it is better shrouded, and I put a small dap of silicon caulk over the gap. This doesn't make it "water proof", but it has made it highly "water resistant". Regardless of where you place the gap, it's very important that you dis-assemble, clean and lubricate the headset much more often on a bike equipped with a Future Shock. The specific design of the FS has tends to be less durable than a tradition headset. Of course this is just my opinion, based on decades of experience maintaining bikes.

I modified my Park CC-3 to a Park CC-3.2 by grinding the probe of the 1% end down to 0.010 inch shorter than the 0.75% end. This gives me a tool which measures 0.5% and 0.75% elongation like the Park CC-3.2.

What could explain my issue which is shifting works perfectly on the bike but when I put it on a trainer with the exact same 12 speed cassette it makes sounds and rubs the front Derreailur on the top and bottom gears ⚙️… I’ve tried everything. This is now the third cassette and again it matches my bikes cassette.

It also makes a good self-defense weapon especially if you are actually riding a bike or have it in your messenger bag, which makes it more believable that it's really 'only' a tool. Imagine a swing of the PW4 on an uncivil person.

I just got one of these. Amazing piece of equipment. What's weird is, how does it simulate gear difficulty? I shift gears up and it literally gets harder to pedal just as in real life riding. It's amazing but I don't understand it.
@markfisher796223 күн бұрын
Since the resistance is proportional to the roller RPM, shifting gears at a constant cadence drives the roller faster, and induces more resistance. 2:00
