Hi, thanks for the video, very helpful! When I try to change the stitch length on my singer 300w, I can only turn the hand wheel about half an inch even with both buttons depressed. Any idea what’s up with that or why I can’t adjust the stitch length? Thanks

You did a good clear job of explaining timing adjustment. I always say hook point to neeldle clearance is no light between them without them touching each other. I think it would be good if next you would have explained adjusting the needle guard. With these tight tolerances, any side needle deflection and good bye hook point. Just for added thought, most of these machines are old. Cup screws get worn as well as other parts and normally they have been worked on by many people of different skill levels. If you've owned a machine a long time then you know its condition. If you've recently acquired it, best to go through it. These are tools for doing real work. Don't want any downtime.

Hello there guys! I have a direct drive motor on my Juki 8700H heavy duty model it’s 1000watt eBay direct drive I installed myself overpowered for that machine I’m sure. I would like to put that motor on my Juki 1541s but the Juki 1541 shaft is bigger and I would need the proper shaft collar for the 1541 not sure what size that shaft is or what that shaft collar is called or how to order one I could use some pro advice for that. Also they claim those motors are for light duty machines and maybe medium duty it is 1000watt though would you say that would work for the application I want to use it for? Main reason is I would like to get rid of belt altogether I have a regular 750 watt servo on it now. Thank you for any advice you could help me with and sorry if I rambled lol
@bridgewatersewingcentre4 ай бұрын
Would have to see your machine as I dont know without looking at the shaft size to tell you what you want to know. 1000watts should work ok for the 1541.

Question, at the end about the walking foot…I’m wanting to raise the rear foot a little when it’s in the down position. It dents the leather as I feed it through and I think if I can raise that rear foot it’ll resolve that issue. How do I raise that?
@bridgewatersewingcentre4 ай бұрын
Lifting the foot would not help this issue. Basically all you can do is slack back on the pressure.

Hi there, thank you so much for the video, I just purchased a ikonix KS 335A which looks just like yours. I'm running Nylon 69 as this was recommended, but the thread keeps on unraveling and birdnesting on the bottom, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you 😊
@markolson78776 ай бұрын
I recently purchased an iconic KS-335A and have had multiple issues with it...they did not provide a viable manual ~ the paper one appeared to by a mimeograph from the '70's....the one online was not much better....Their videos show an entirely different way to thread the machine than the manual as well as differently than the unit in this video....I had significant "bird nesting" and discovered the threading was the issue... I am very frustrated.
@bridgewatersewingcentre4 ай бұрын
Your tensions may be to tight for that type of thread.

@bridgewatersewingcentre4 ай бұрын
all you would need is a parts list for a 563, you would need the hook saddle, the gears and the hook assembly.

Great video, it's been a big help. I didn't notice you mentioning anything about the oil level in the reservoir for the hook assembly at all though. And isn't there any way to oil the mainsheet bushing by the hand wheel?

The only way to get oil there would be to take the top cover off.

You might be able to help. Ive tried to remove the bobbin carrier. I've removed the 3 screws but the bobbin won't lift out. I think there might be thread caught between it and it wont rotate.
@bridgewatersewingcentre11 ай бұрын
Sometimes you have to take two screw drivers , using one as a hammer, and gently tap on the bobbin case base to get it moving around and it will eventually pop out, as long as you have the gib removed. Using a hammer could break it.

Hello neil. Could you please do a video on how to set the stitch width and do a trouble shooting video. The amount of movement for my widest stitch and narrowest stitch is only 1/16” wheel movement. And it doesn’t seem right. There’s way too much room that’s not being used at all. It’s a singer 221u566a also. If I hold the button down and turn the wheel, it doesn’t have very much adjustment that’s usable. And my stitch should be able to go much wider. Thank you in advance.

Thanks for the helpful video! I bought a "non working" 111W155 to do my own upholstery on a car restoration project. About 6 hours ago I did not have a clue how these worked. I will keep the story short by getting to the punch line, which is there are two sliding cover plates on each side of the needle/foot area, which at first glance look identical, but turns out they are not. I am sure you are chuckling right now because you know what the important difference is. The upside is I needed to get familiar with the machine anyway and made all the little adjustments in your video, and after 6 hours of frustration it made me laugh too, when I realized that all I needed to do was switch those two plates around because one of them has a recess in the bottom of it so the thread can pass over the top of the bobbin case.

You mention at the end, lining the plunger up top with the button on the bottom up. Mine appear to be off now, what do you do to line them up? I was trying to increase my stick length for the first time and I think I goofed it.
@chetbraim8928 Жыл бұрын
The bottom button does line up with the D line, but the top appears to have slipped to L
@bridgewatersewingcentre11 ай бұрын
I would push the top button down first until it falls into the groove then line it up to the specified spot you want and make sure the button falls completely out. Once done the top do the same with the bottom.
