Yeah I doubt even 200 years would be long enough to produce such a nation 🤣🤣

The reverb on the radio calls was horrible. Hard to understand and gave me aheadache. Other than that, I enjoyed it.

I’ve read the story so long ago I think I was eight or nine. In the late 1950s? They made it into the movie screamers. Excellent movie. I’m constantly surprised at how many movies Philip K Dick stories inspired. Just the other day, President Trump and now Stargate $500 billion dollar AI project. The next day China claims to have deep seek a $5 million dollar artificial intelligence.. Good God, what are we doing?

Is there any chance you have more from this series by this narrator? I know he was "retired" but one can still hope.

you know, i can relate to this story fairly well. Seeing the region i live in be forgotten, looked down on, and generally dismissed by the rest of the states. Yea the earthmen got my sympathies, appalachia shouldn't be forgotten.

I had to go to another channel with another narrator to finish the story. I found out there was only like 2 hours left of the story ... Not sure why you wouldn't narrate another 2 hours, and put it out as one full length video. I really hope part 2 is coming. Just trying to wrap my head around why you wouldn't finish with only a small bit of the story left. Felt strange to me. Trying to understand the thought process there.

Why the background music? It totally defeats the voice of the reader.

A good story though the ending seems a bit silly. I should have simply ended it with them taking the machine apart for metal and other materials.

All this dude did was write a science fiction story about the rise of the Nazi Party, which England help create. Wonder how much money he got for it? Create the monster then make money off it. Pretty sinister.

Wells could predict that women would join the workforce & be independent & he talked day in and day out about Humanitarianism, about all being treated equally yet failed to forsee that the same values would apply to "negros". Apart from that, this might be his best novel tbh. Feels like parts of it has actually come true

I like how the author gives like one physical description per character until Marne comes in and all of a sudden it's like he's talking to a police sketch artist.
