I appreciate the videos. Why use this system vs a normal zone system?

A lot of contractors prefer Arzel because it's easier to install, because of the retrofit dampers available, and because it's covered by a lifetime warranty. Here's another video that explains more: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bWHNmH95r9l6fK8

What about if you got to finish basement? None of my ductwork is visible. Unless you're in the utility room which is about 10 ft square. I don't want to tear all the ceilings down in my basement just to put in a system is there a different way like with dampers or some kind of closure on the vents and cold air returns? I remember some kind of system that uses bladders to block things off. I don't think you can call it a retrofit system If you have to tear apart your house to make it work So what do we do when you have a finished basement and you don't want to tear your house apart?

Depending on how your ductwork is set up, the dampers may be able to be installed from the utility room. We also offer a couple different insertable dampers that can work in situations like yours. You can see how they work here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/h3jMg4eHdsSUn8U. We have a register damper that fits inside the register opening, too. A local contractor can take a look at your home and recommend options: www.arzelcomfort.com/contractor-locator/

This is perfect -- I have a 70s bi-level home with significantly different heating/cooling requirements between floors. Since the plenum serving registers is in between the floors and covered by drywall, I can't get a traditional zoning system installed without significant time, cost and construction. Your database lists Princeton Air for my service area (NJ, 08520), but they have been getting negative reviews lately. Do you have another approved installer in this area that I can contact for an estimate? Thanks!

Thanks for your interest in Arzel! Any HVAC contractor can install Arzel systems, so if you have a contractor you like, ask them about it. If they're unfamiliar with Arzel, we're happy to provide training, and our tech support is really great at answering the phone fast. I tried to get this in my new home, but the builder and contractor overpriced the product. I hope to do my own retrofit once I take ownership of the home.
