I just posted this on social media this evening. My dad (Ed) died 21 years ago today; I remember something I got from a good friend in an email years ago? "Hug each other and never miss an "I love you" opportunity." You only get that opportunity while people are still here. I'm thankful I had it. Love and miss him always.

What about wild life? What about rats? What about all the things of the human arrogance? What about destroyed roofs? Is there a solution? What about the power of nature? Was it ever yours or mine? Did you ever stop to notice all the problems we ignored? What about the songs of birds? Can they still sing? What about the beauty of Borneo? Does it still gleam? What about the consequences? Are they not seen? What about trying to be "God" ? How can we redeem? What about the mangy-looking things, long legged and scrawny? What about the reckless use of chemicals? Can we guarantee? Did you ever stop to think that maybe you are the one to blame?

We miss you like hell.... How can you leave this world without our permission....you were not yours anymore. You were ours...no one will ever be able to fill the vacuum, you left behind.

To "The candykissme" viewers, my family and I had rehearsed this song (on a 45 rpm record) for my dad's homecoming in 1967 from war; I was just a kid. We then learned that he was "delayed". A day later, an official gray military vehicle stopped at our house. I remember watching three neatly dressed people at the door, a squadron friend, the base chaplain, and the officers wives' club chair-lady. My dad was reported missing (MIA) on a mission over Vietnam on the first of May, 1967. I never listened nor understood that song until this day. Thank you for the memories, thank you for the innocence and freedom of a time long lost, thank you for the closure; this means a lot to me (and many others, I am sure). I never had a chance to share the words of this song with him. May God bless all the fathers of the world, Ciao, L (Veteran).

I just woke up and had a tune in my head that I needed to figure out what song it was. After 15 min of humming the tune to myself and searching up and down, I arrive here. This movie was never really one of my Christmas movies, I guess I was too old when it came out. I haven’t seen this movie in years, but still the tune was as clear as day when I woke up. It’s April as I’m writing this and I’m 35 years old. Guess this song has a grip on me where it transcends time and place to pop up when I least expect it. That’s totally fine by me

This is beautiful. Though the title claims Lindon Symphony and the credits claim Vienna Symphony.
