I saw them twice in those days, Roseland Ballroom and Hammerstein Ballroom, NYC. Those shows were awesome. Seen them in subsequent lineups but their 97-98 era was boss!!

The refrain of "don't go wreck the car" which got repurposed to "Don't fall through the stars" on "Grey Ghost" is what Mike is telling himself nodding out on a dock very high on heroin looking at the reflection of the sky in the water, thinking he'll drown if he falls in. Even in the original, getting lost in the parking lot and slipping the knot are reference to his habit. Soooo much of Soul Coughings lyrics are about drugs if you understand the slang, which he sometimes creates on the spot. "Gotta bump around for a while" "White girl" "I'm gonna give you most of mine. I'm gonna give it if I don't slip you. " If you never realized this go back and listen with that POV.

Kevin F’ing Cadogan!!! Yin fired his yang without realizing how essential he was. I attended a 3EB concert last night and admittedly it was insanely good but it’s because Kevin’s riffs and ability to create space and time with a mother f’ing guitar.

Love how Stephen even back then was kind of an awful singer. Somehow thinks he's a god and ruined this entire band with his shitty unwarranted ego. I do love his lyrics and songwriting, but like come on, when you fire the guy writing most of the songs...and by fire I mean be a complete piece of shit and selfishly screw out of everything.

Was the audio straight from the board? Was it touched up? I've been watching for five or so songs and Jim never makes a mistake. That kinda shit ain't easy to play either. And I saw them a few times in those days. Always sounded great but you could hear a sour not or out of pitch bend now and then. Either way I love this video.

Una verdadera basura musical . Pura cochinada sin sentido . Puro ruido .
