It is diy distress embossing powder not diy embossing powder

Nice but I thought this was a tutorial on how to make a diy embossing powder? I'm still none the wiser after watching. I like your stamp though.
@jaspermartin74446 жыл бұрын
Thanks for this, even if this technique "only" doubles the use of regular embossing power, that's still a great savings!

Does anyone know how to apply Rub and Buff to the altered book in order to get streaks??
@aliciabell48507 жыл бұрын
Hello, I just saw this video and I think I would take a sm paint brush and go around the stamp edges to take the extra sand off and then leave the rest on the stamp. It would be extra texture. You might have to stamp it again lightly over the sand being carful not to get it on your stamp after using a heat gun to set/dry it. But I sure am going to give this a try. TY for sharing.
@CraftCreations4fun8 жыл бұрын
so either way you need to mix the good embossing powered with the sand and it will stretch your supply out more? is that the goal? I'm so sorry I'm so new to all of this.. if that is the case that is fantastic xoxoxo

Found me some sand finally! I had some put away in a box from when I went to the beach years ago. Was so glad to find that jar full of sand! I have not found any in the store. It use to be at $1 store but they don't have it any more. My brother & his wife went to Myrtle Beach a few weeks ago and I had asked her to bring me a bottle of sand back but she forgot! Did get some shells to craft with though. I can't wait to try this out now that I have me some sand! Blessings & Happy Crafting :-)

But...hello!Sand DO NOT MELT like embossing powder!
@mamascorpio9 жыл бұрын
not supposed to. the sand will rub away and create "holes"....or the distressed look.
@InaKristiansen9 жыл бұрын
Sorry but i did not see that it said distressed...then i'm with you! So,does it work as well as regular distress powder?
@mamascorpio9 жыл бұрын
now that I can't answer for ya. :) I just tried any kind of embossing powder for the first time yesterday so I don't know what regular distress powder looks like yet. However, based on what I saw here, this seems like a decent want to get a "weathered and worn" sort of embossed look. As for me and embossing so far.... it's a trial and error of technique and product brands I'll tell you that!

Cinda cool!I will try some time. ..i got the sand and i got the embossing powder!

I love these tips that you and some of the other ladies have been giving on making your own stuff!! I have been crafting since I was a young child and I want to get into all the new stuff that has been out but never could afford them. I neverr thought about trying to come up with a way to make up my own like some of ya'll have.. so glad to find these video's.. I have learned so much now and have been able to save so much on buying craft supplies now by making some of my own like the Tim Holtz!!! Thank you so much for making this video!! Where is the cheapest place to buy the sand at? Walmart, Hobby Lobby, Michael's, Ebay, or Amazon... Please let me know thank you & God bless, Oh and Happy Mother's Day to you :)

Very nice! I have kids too but it would be nice if someone were WATCHING them while you're making this and in a separate room from where you're working so this would make a better tutorial. Sorry but no one wants to hear screaming kids, even Mother's like me. No offense!

Is it just me or are the words of explanation running off the pages, leaving out perhaps pertinent information? I don't think this is for people like me, without any sort of book altering experience. :(

I love what you did in your laboratory. I'm going to try this out with tiny silver coloured sand granules I bought some years ago. No Michael's store here, across the pond, so it's good to find some money savers. Thanks for the video.
