Absolutely unreal album, one of the very best of the whole 90s. So ahead of its time, hard to believe it is from 1991.

Screamadelica is a hugely important record to me for personal reasons - but. even if I try and look at it objectively I honestly believe it a one of the greatest and most important records made - I think it stands up against the seminal records of any decade. Its beautiful, moving, covers so much ground, it's completely immersive, experimental - it could only have been made by true believers x

Met him in Edinburgh, 2000 or 2001 at a small exclusive venue where a workmate of mine who worked for a record company got me the tickets because she knew I loved Screamadelica and the other stuff he'd done. When I approached him once I was really nervous and didn't want to piss him off by bugging him but he had no ego at all and was really nice with us (Me and my ex) Been playing his creations for 30 years and will until I die. Rest in Peace brother and Shine like stars

Incredible, monumental piece marred by the inappropriate 'fornication' babbling. Shame. Shame also the 2 Andy's disappeared/quit, like so many of my fave artists. Such a waste.

When they talk about I'm Coming Down...that was the first track that I heard from the album. It blew me away. I'd never really heard anything like it at that time. Saxophones were in my mind cheesy instruments you stayed away from unless you were Kenny G. This song changed all that for me. It's still an incredible song. Pure feel.

"Digital film" is not a tautology, film can be analogue or digital; "analogue smartphone" is also not a tautology as there is no such thing. "Digital smartphone" *would* be a tautology because all smartphones are digital. Maybe you're confused as to what "tautology" means? ... There, I've out-smartarsed you!

no band has looked or sexier than the Scream circa `91-95. Larry David said that Julia Louis Dreyfus brought a lustre to Seinfeld. As did Denise to primal scream. And their voices blended beautifully. A proper passion assault.

Why is there no mention of the influence of the 'Madchester' scene on the album's sound?
@abhikdas365210 жыл бұрын
But the 'Madchester' scene also fused rock music with dance and preceded this album by a good 2-3 years. It was also 'driven' by the consumption of Ecstasy. The music influenced everyone from U2 to Oasis. Maybe Primal Scream won't admit it 'coz they are Scottish! ;-)
