Nice video. Good move by the Sea Tow operator to go straight in and pin both boats against the shore, giving the firefighters a stable platform to work with (and unfortunately nailing the hose in the process).

Is that building the all-wood-frame construction style with simple drywall firebreaks in between units? Fire looked like it went through it very quickly.

Yeah it spread quickly it’s started on the C & D side and just took over. I arrived almost 40 min in to the job so they had there hands full on that day. Wind did not help at all that was a key to the spread

A lot of fire there, when there is fire above the ceiling like that you have to breech the ceiling to put the attic space out. The fire was a tough one to access for an inside attack, or even search for victims. When the occupants tell you that everybody is out, you stop a second for a little prayer of thanks.

Question, Why was the Arial bucket concentrating on the section that was already totaled instead of putting the stream on the progressing part of the fire, as to stop progression to the B side remaining intact structure?
@karlkrikelis5933 Жыл бұрын
What I can see is on the B side there are interior FF operating inside the structure. Don't want to put a master stream where you have man power operating

@@karlkrikelis5933the OP makes a good point. Why an internal attack if it’s a lost cause? If you’re doing a victim search that’s one thing but this was a shitshow already and no need for hand lines when master streams were the order of the day.

AS a 42 year fire service member I generally do not comment on videos from other departments, however, I am also a 42 year fire service member with terminal cancer. The fact that there are members operating downwind without SCBA given what is burning greatly concerns me. The carcinogens being produced by the fuel load radiate out from the smoke and the members are being exposed. Please when responding to an incident such as this that where there is fire - especially in a fire load similar to this - there IS cancer.
@RayFireFighter3 жыл бұрын
You are right Brother. A lot of the time when I do Pictures I try not to show them when PPE is not worn. But its a habit a lot of guys do and sometime I just don't get it.
@bobcallahan22743 жыл бұрын
@@RayFireFighter It's just sad that in this day and age with all the educational resources out there on firefighter cancer we still see this. Now to be fair, maybe these folks haven't heard the message and don't understand that you don't have to be in the smoke to be exposed to the carcinogens being produced. Maybe there are still some cultural challenges in this area regarding cancer prevention. Maybe they haven't be exposed to training regarding cancer. Whatever the reason, it needs to change. Cancer sucks. And I hate to see this kind of stuff because all it takes is one significant exposure.

Surely the fire engines have at least some size of water tanks inboard? Seems pointless sebding them out if they have no water on board if there are no water hydrants nearby. Were there no water tankers available in such a situation????????????? Seems a poor coverage for the area if that is the case!!!!!!!!! Appreciate it is only junk though!! Yellow (Airport Fire Engine?) could have been deployed much sooner in putting the fire out!!!! Seems poor effort from those who should have been in control of the situation.

All Trucks have water. Engine Carry between 500-1000 gallons of water, You are not putting that Fire out with that. In front of the Structure they had 3 ponds set up which you dont see. Them boys in Galloway Twp know how to handle calls.
