Don't get me wrong, I want more public transportation and I think it's great the infrastructure is here for us to make such a journey, but I calculated this trip based on today's fares and schedules and this is a 7 hour $76.20 daily commute. 7 hours spent commuting a day is almost another full-time job. A car is around a 5 hour $30.72 commute, which is awful as well.

Friedman as a former entertainment industry producer should be well aware of the impact of IA 600 members and contributions they make to the entertainment industry. It is quite clear the oversight by Assemblymember Friedman to not invite IA 600 is disingenuous behavior on her part. Don't get bogged down discussing AI as the fundamental problem is the lack of tax incentives. I urge all entertainment industry workers both union and non-union to vote for change this coming November. We must seek out elected officials who will take an active role to protect and save our industry. Los Angeles is on the verge of becoming the next Detroit a barren wasteland of unemployment and destitute citizens.

Less than 10% of my local Los Angeles industry friends and former colleagues are working.That’s for the last year and a half. In all occupations.

This was great. Thank you Laura and Jeanette. I worry about the future of studio produced animation. Incentives may not be enough if AI technology starts to excel and impact job positions. Seems change is coming and just like in the recent past with outsourcing, it’s not going to benefit our working artists here.

Don't get bogged down discussing AI as the fundamental problem is the lack of tax incentives. Producers are looking for other states and countries to work in to stretch their budget.

As of 2022 Program 2.0 generated a total of $21.9 billion in economic output and $961.5 million in state and local tax revenue over its five-year run.“California’s film and TV tax credit program is an investment in the industry and thousands of people whose passion and vision create the content we all want to watch,”said Nancy Rae Stone, deputy director of the tax credit program. “Its career readiness requirement helps ensure a pipeline of emerging talent in the years ahead by providing paid internships, workshops and panels, while the Career Pathways Program provides hands-on training to individuals from underserved communities.”

California cannot remain competitive with other states and countries unless additional tax credits are offered to producers. It is simple economics . Producers are always looking to stretch their budget.

Another viewer commented "FilmLA raised the prices for permitting how was that helpful". My answer " FilmLA is part of the problem not the solution. They are blind to the underlying issue which has resulted in thousands of unemployed entertainment industry workers."

As a former entertainment industry producer Assemblymember Friedman should be fully aware of the primary issue. "Assemblymember Laura Friedman (D-Glendale) will likely face off against Republican intensive care physician Alex Balekian in the race to replace outgoing Rep. Adam B. Schiff." Why should we vote for her to represent us in Congress if she has failed to address our financial well being? As voters we have the power to tell Assemblymember Friedman we will not vote for her given her inability as well as other state politicians to implement changes to save the entertainment industry in Los Angeles and California.
