Amazing stuff !! Would this same idea // method work with sprinter seats in a e350 ?
@elelegidosf9707 Жыл бұрын
That's a removable seat, not a jump seat. A jump seat remains in the vehicle, and the base folds up.

So, looks like you put in a 2" spacer under your factory springs. But I don't see a corresponding spacer above the factory bump stop which means the bump stop probably never gets used.

It’s a 2” suspension lift by transit off road … we all have the sumo coil springs
@SmoothBrain233 жыл бұрын
Hey, thank you for the video, that was a nice quick way to get a suspension lift. If anyone is watching this video because they are installing these rear leaf springs, use a bottle neck jack on top of the new spring with 2x4 block of wood in between the top of the jack and the body, I'm sure if these nice people in the video had one they would of loved to use it over the ratchet straps and c-clamp method. Also I don't trust those front sumo coil spring spacers, the fact that the manufacturer uses zip ties as a retainer, shows they were never meant to last many miles or years. If anyone is trying to get some extra life out of the front parts, order stainless zip ties from Amazon, mostly used for exhaust insulation for vehicles but will work great with this application because they won't dry out and become brittle like the plastic zip ties.

Great idea. I'm looking to do something similar. Are you happy with how it turned out? Do the wood covering stay in place well enough when the seat is removed?
@bigfootvanlife33443 жыл бұрын
Yes it worked out great we are very happy with it we don’t use it too often it’s only when we have an extra person but you would never even know that we have the hole in our floor for the seats

I bought the same seat to install myself in a Chevy Express 2500. They said it was universal, but the only grooves in the floor it lines up with are too far in. There seems to be little to no chance of reaching under the heat shield to install a backing plate in at least one of the spots. It also appears I cannot use the holes for the bolts present on the rails because they do not work out with the cross members underneath. I will have to drill new holes in the rails, but I still have no idea how to get under the heat shield and I do not want to cut a hole in it. I've yet to find a video where anyone explains how to address this issue.
@bigfootvanlife33444 жыл бұрын
Yeah when we installed we didn’t have to cut through our heat shield.. we were close but where it lined up we didn’t have to... not sure about Chevy !!
