I travelled to Morocco 15 years ago and it was like going to a different world, I spent many days in the hotel lobby drinking in the heat just outside Casablanca. If you ever get the chance to visit North Africa (Tunisia, Morroco, Egypt) you'll come to see what actual poverty is and it ain't what we have in the US. I became good friends with the bar tender, picked up some arabic and tipped him 9 months wages before I left, getting into the culture there and understanding it was crazy.

I saw this band in Fairfax a few years ago. The guitar player is terrific! This group, despite toiling in obscurity, is an instrumental band that ranks right up there with The Shadows and The Ventures.
