Antes que nada, gracias por compartir este tesoro. Veo en este maestro del violín un aplomo, sin precipitaciones, todo cuadrado en el marco complejo de Beethoven. Una afinación ejemplar, a la que se debería aspirar para un dominio sobresaliente del instrumento, máxime uno como el violín. El diálogo entre el solista y la orquesta, cual comprensión mutua de dos lenguajes que se unifican para producir la síntesis maestra de una obra de arte. Éstas son grabaciones que se han de conservar como legado exquisito del bello arte del violín.

The second thing he plays is obviously Bach's 3rd sonata (for violin and harpsichord). I love the smile on the luthier's face so much... Is the first thing he plays from a piece as well? Sounds a little bit like Vieuxtemps?

На мой взгляд, это единственный исполнитель этой Чаконы И.С. Баха, который не спешит и пропевает обдуманно каждую ноту, хотя хочется еще драматичнее ее играть. Бах - это философ музыки, который в каждом своем произведениии заложил духовный смысл бытия, будь это судьба человека скорбь и моменты радости жизни,разговор человека с Богом, участь ли в загробной жизни, всё это мы ощущаем в его музыке! И не спроста, ведь Бах был органист в церкви, он можно так сказать исповедник в музыке, и Бог его помазал и коснулся Своей благодатию.

Perfection. Utter perfection. I learned this on electric guitar by ear. It's almost impossible to play on guitar I can tell you.

The intonation, elegance and beauty of tone are all out of this world....on a par with Heifetz technically, but with an additional depth of musicality that is trademark Grumiaux. The notes are so absolutely in tune that there is clarity of sound that almost hurts. Oh to have been a concertgoer in the 1950s and 1960s when Grumiaux, Oistrakh, Menuhin, Stern and Heifetz were all in their prime, to name but a few.
