I've never looked into doing this, but if it is possible (safely) the most likely way would be by deactivating the FDCM in JSCAN. There may be more to it than that but it's where I would start if I was trying to do that.

Question, with the 2015 Jeep Patriot 6 spd auto. Automatic 4 Wheel Drive system, if you damage 1 tire, do you have to replace all 4 tires? I've heard that with AWD vehicles, if 1 tire blows, you must replace all 4.
@shoveIКүн бұрын
As long as your replacement tire is the same size (same digits) it's fine to just replace one. There are no unrelieved components in the drive system to bind or overheat from the trivial difference in tread thickness.
@Dee-ty9nyКүн бұрын
continued... uses software to control the traction, 4wd. also has a switch to lock in 4wd rear wheels - via electronically activated clutch thats in the rear differential unit. 9:42 Off road pkg also had a steel skid plate option. The 2014 & newer 4WD vehicles w std 6 spd auto (not Freedom Drive 2. 173 hp, plenty of power for hills, tho not performance. At 6'1", can sleep in it. BLD - brake lock differential system (the 4wd lock?) . Interior lil cheap - plastic cracks. Review fr 4 ya.

2015 Jeep Patriot 2.4L engine developed with Mitsubishi & Hyundai... 6 spd Auto Hyundai manufactured trans (manual 5sp avail til 2016), Standard CVT avail on fwd or 4wd 2007-2013, thru entire run the off-road or tow model had a difft CVT w a lower initial gear ratio, 2014-2017 the 4WD cars that didn not have Freedom Drive had a standard 6 spd auto trans. The 4WD, thru entire run, is an automatic 4WD system, not an AWD system. It's largely a fwd car, until it detects some slip, then it sends power to back wheels.

@shoveI3 күн бұрын
Yep, 235/65R17 fits great, depending on your wheels. You'll want to use JSCAN to recalibrate the Jeep for the new tire size that not only keeps your speedometer accurate it also makes sure the electronic throttle and the transmission are working their best with the actual speed you're moving.

Hey thank you for letting me know that 4wd system doesn't work over 35 mph. And that matters because some people don't know this and are driving fast because of a false sense of safety when they need to slow down probably. ❤
@MeTubing4 күн бұрын
Definitely a better look. I’ll be doing the same. Will a taillight harness convertor be necessary? Thank you.
@shoveI4 күн бұрын
They drop right in, same body harness connector. They do use different bulbs, so shop bulbs for a 94/95 if you're replacing them. Also be aware that the cruise control on SN95's uses the brake lamp filament as a validator for going into cruise so if you put in LED bulbs your cruise will stop working. There's a workaround but the easiest workaround is just regular bulbs. You can use LEDs in the reversing lamps.

Does the 235/75r15 fit in the spare tire hole?
@shoveI5 күн бұрын
Unfortunately no, the spare tire well is a bit shallow for the full width of the tire (235 is a bit over 9" and the sidewalls bulge to over 10" ) and even if you deflate the tire there just isn't room to smash it down there and keep the load surface in place. Your options would be to either keep the OE spare, which is smaller and will make traction control/ABS go into failure mode while you're using it but should get you home if you're not way out in the bush, or put a fullsize spare on top of the load surface (strap it down to reduce danger if you're in a collision), or you could get a 17" spare wheel from another vehicle and mount a 165/90R17 temporary spare on that which is about the same diameter as a mounted 235/75R15 just skinny. I can't guarantee it but I am reasonably confident that would fit under the cover if you trim the liner blanket a little.

It's funny....he says it's a relatively narrow vehicle. But I've never owned a SUV before and when I get in my Patriot it seems huge to me. I know....I know.....when I see other Patriots on the road they seem smallish compared to these gigantic trucks and gigantic SUVs out there. But again.....I've never owned an SUV before so it seems huge to me as I sit in it. Honestly I can't get over all these super expensive, gigantic SUVs. How can they FEED the things? And honestly.....$70,000 for a pickup truck? Somebody saw that guy coming. In my opinion that's just nuts. I think I paid $25,000 for my 2017 Patriot.

Hi great video 👍 I have a quick question, so my Patroit is a2013. I upped the tyres to a more bulky size. Both back and front are 17” but back is more bulker then front. Drove it for 2 years no problems. Then boom the car started make so noise like a bearing that are about to go. What to the dealer they replaced the transfer case. 6months down the line the noise come back. Car has been standing for month now. Any ideas? Thought of replacing the input shaft bearing…
@shoveI8 күн бұрын
The 4WD system on these cars cannot accommodate different tire sizes front and rear, so if your rear tires are larger then that is going to damage the car. You'll probably have to diagnose the specific part that is failing rather than firing the parts cannon at it, but if you do repair it also make sure all four tires are exactly the same measurements.

@shoveI17 күн бұрын
Nice! The single port SN95's came with actual individual runner manifolds, rather than logs like the split port SN95's have so there isn't a lot to be gained from headers unless you go long tube. The real bottleneck other than the heads themselves is the Y-pipe & everything behind it. If you can find one of the few remaining H adapters on the shelf from Pacesetter, or if you have a muffler shop build you true dual exhaust you'll get 10x more from that than headers!

Reviews sure have a big astroturf problem.. Well, I do genuinely think these AutoOne brand lamps are excellent as LED's go, they are almost certain to need the resistors on your Journey since that's built on the same platform as my pretend Jeep. That's a bit extra $$ since you have separate high and low beams.

ive never used led headlights,i have HID head and fog lights in my newedge mustang. love them i can see clearly now, have you ever used them?
@shoveIАй бұрын
HID is hit or miss, it can be really a best of both worlds in low kelvin (4300, 5000) both fashionable white and good orange/red coverage. They have drawbacks you already know about like dealing with the high/low beam, ignition delay and they can have a pretty short life span at full output. And of course they're more expensive to manufacture (as a package) than either LED or incandescent. It's worth noting that the real big Carlisle & Finch lamps that ocean vessels use where fashion means nothing and function is everything - they're dominantly xenon HID. Cost is a different equation in that market.

So far this is the best video I have found and it only shares the healthy engine! Thank you! I have been on the hunt for a video that would go over the 4 things below, or at the very least steps 1 and 4. Nothing on the internet yet, but maybe its out there somewhere! 1) Showcasing a ticking 5.7L Hemi engine running. 2) Diagnosing/Identifying it as a Cam/Lifter, Injector or exhaust manifold issue. 3) Highlighting or better yet, fully sharing the repair steps/process. 4) Showcasing the clean/normal 5.7L Hemi engine running after the repair. In short I will be making this video as I plan on being very OCD/Perfectionist on this matter. But first step for me is verifying the issue. And because I don't have a shop it will likely boil down to just steps 1 and 4 while describing the word that the shop had done. There is a good possibility I will just go for a reman engine that has several improvements to prevent this issue. Something the manufacturer should have done long ago. If that's what ends up happening I will inform people that I replaced the engine with a better design because of cam/lifter failure due to engineered defects that result in poor oil flow and proper lubrication to critical engine components.
