For Prop 1: This gives them 2 more years, plus a 4 year term instead of 2. If you have voters remorse, you'll have to wait 2 extra years to vote them out. Also, it allows them to serve 1 more term in the opposite chamber (e.g. 8 years in senate and 4 in the house. Or 8 years in the house and 4 in the senate). As for financial transparency. We already have those measures in place and these would do *nothing* to give "more transparency"!
@DrMorrisonMTU2 жыл бұрын
Voters decide every election who gets elected--there is no extra waiting time. From Bridge Magazine's (nonpartisan) description of Proposal 1: "The ballot measure would amend the state constitution to reduce the maximum length a lawmaker can serve in the Legislature from 14 years to 12 years, but would allow them to serve the full tenure in one chamber. Currently, lawmakers can serve up to six years in the Michigan House and eight years in the Senate." Michigan is ranked 50th in the nation in transparency. From Bridge Magazine again: "The constitutional amendment would also require state lawmakers, the governor, the secretary of state and the state attorney general to disclose certain financial information, including: description of assets, sources of all forms of income, description of liabilities, positions held outside their elected office, arrangements regarding future employment, continuing benefits from former employers other than the state, and payments and gifts received from lobbyists." Thanks for watching.

@@DrMorrisonMTU You used more words in that "non-partisan description" than the actual proposal itself.😂 What did I post that is wrong? Btw, they already have to disclose *all* their financials.
@DrMorrisonMTU2 жыл бұрын
TruckerEnoch 88 I was not trying to convince you. I was trying to give you information and allow you to make up your own mind. You indicated that voters will not be able to decide for an extended period of time if Proposal 2 passes. The quote from Bridge clarifies that there is no change in the term of office that an office holder is voted in for: two years for house, four years for senate. You indicated that "As for financial transparency. We already have those measures in place" and I wanted to give you some information on that. Best wishes.

Hello, wonderful videos! The result for F_r for this part 3 is very curious. Is that result suggesting that even though there is some positive pressure inside the pipe, the wall experiences no radial force and only force from friction at the pipe wall? I understand how F_r cancels from integrating over 2pi, but intuitively the positive pressure is trying to expand the pipe rather than the upwards forces canceling the downwards forces.

having been through undergrad and grad school in ChemE, I find this professor to be very good at lecturing, at least for this video from what I have observed. It's very methodical and concise provided with just enough explanation for the most part.

This is well made. Though I want a more detailed explanation of why the pressure gradient in the z-direction at the edge can be assumed to be the same as the surface, which is equal to the atmospheric pressure. Help me out here. On each x-position, the corresponding (del Pz/ del z) is the same. meaning, as a go from the surface to the edge, the pressure gradient in x direction changes, the pressure gradient in z remains constant. When I think of pressure or total pressure, I think of pressure = force per area. What I can't wrap around my head is is pressure is a measurement that coincide with a two dimensional space, surely we can simply put a third dimension in it but it will just be zero. But when we cancel two of the three pressure terms (pressure gradient in y and pressure gradient in z), we are left with a pressure term that belongs to only one dimension. If pressure is a 1 dimensional instance, can't I imply P=F/A can be simplified to P=F/L (whether it be the length, height, or distance)? This is bothering me and I can't seem to find a satisfying answer.
